This disease develops due to inadequate intake of calcium throughout life, early removal of ovaries, heavy drinking, smoking and use of medications such as glucocorticoids or anticonvulsants.   • Consume Vitamin D enriched food like fortified milk, cereals, fatty fish and eggs.

  • Make changes in your life style by quitting smoking and drinking.

  • If you are above 65 years old and prone to develop osteoporosis, go for a bone density test, such as DEXA scan to ascertain how strong your bones are.


4. Protect Yourself from Cardiovascular Diseases.


The common cardiovascular diseases are narrowing of arteries, high blood pressure, chest pain and women after menopause are at a higher risk to develop cardiovascular diseases due to lowering of HDL (high density lipoprotein).
