The United States of America is a name that is synonymous with freedom and prosperity. Lots of people from different parts of the world prefer to work and study in one of the safest country of the world.  Technically speaking in order to get into any foreign country all you need is a valid passport and a Visa. However, the process is not that simple for an USA visa aspirant. Even if you have wonderful GRE score or a great professional history, cracking the US visa interview requires a little homework and lot of mental preparation. Carry All the Documents- Often during the process of the interview, the visa officer many not ask for any documents. He may only ask you some basic questions and end the interview session. However do not forget to carry all your relevant documents specified by the passport and visa services. The officer in charge of the visa services may ask for them as per his will and failing to provide the relevant documents would lead to immediate cancelation of the visa application. Dress Properly- Always dress in comfortable cloths as the wait in the embassy is expected to be quite long. Always wear something that justifies your status as per your application. For example if you are an employee of any company, wear formal attire along with the company badge, if you are a student wear a casual jeans and shirt.

Arrive Early- The line at the Visa services office is usually pretty long. It is always advisable to arrive early at the venue to avoid any last minute delay. If you are appearing for the interview during summer or monsoon months, then carry an umbrella for protection from sun or rain.

Be Confident – Like any interview cracking the USA visa interview requires an applicant to be confident and calm. It is important that you don’t feel distracted by the interviews going on in the other cubicles. If you do not understand any question, ask the official to repeat the question, instead of giving a wrong reply based upon presumption. Always be precise and to the point, do not hide information and do not speak more than it is required. The passport and visa services officer often determines his choice by looking at your confidence level.
