Jagan was courteous and understanding when we told horror story about the Plano location folks of the same franchise. i stopped by salem rr biryani with my family after hearing good things about it, and it ended up being one of the better meals we've had in a while. i ordered the chicken biryani and the rice had plenty of flavor without being overwhelming, the chicken was cooked well and the portion was more than enough. we also shared an appetizer that came out fresh and hot. the staff was friendly and checked in on us without being intrusive. the whole experience felt welcoming, and i'll definitely be back when i'm craving biryani again.

Tried the weekend thali at Salem RR in McKinney and was seriously impressed. We are Indian food connoisseurs! It takes a lot to impress me ?? You can immediately tell the food is made from scratch. The thread paratha was incredible — fresh, flaky, soft, and clearly homemade. Probably one of the best parathas I’ve had in the area. The chicken biryani was packed with flavor and made with real bone-in chicken, which made such a difference. Everything tasted deeply seasoned without being overly heavy. The eggplant dish was also incredibly good with a lot of depth of flavor, and the Chicken 65 was honestly one of the best I’ve had — perfectly marinated, perfectly spiced, crispy outside but still juicy inside. Fish stew... So much flavor and tender... You can tell there’s real care behind the food here. Definitely worth trying if you want authentic South Indian food in McKinney. My 8-year-old loved it too, he had the chicken 65 and it was a great spice level for him. I cannot wait to go back to try the mutton biryani, and the crab curry! I feel super fortunate that we have an incredible new restaurant in town. ????????????

Food was great their biriyani with seeraga samba rice was so great. But the food was little spicy. So ask for less spicy.. I love their Lappa parotta with egg and Kothu..

Had a wonderful dining experience at Salem RR Biriyani! The Tandoori Fish and Crab Masala were absolutely excellent — both dishes were full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The flaky parottas were fresh, soft, and perfectly layered. I also loved the variety of freshly made labha options like Celone, Vechu, Nool, and Muttai, which gave a very authentic touch to the meal. The Seeraga Samba Mutton Biriyani was aromatic and delicious, and the chicken lollipops were a big hit with the kids. Overall, a fantastic place for authentic South Indian food with great flavors and variety. Definitely looking forward to visiting again!

We online ordered a few times and dined in a few times, all with good tasty foods, particularly variety of parotta and non veg items. You must dine in to taste their mutton sukka and liver fry with Seeraga Samba muttton Biriyani. Great South Indian cuisine for delicious curries and dosa variety too.

This restaurant has officially become one of my favorites. The atukal soup was fantastic, and every dish we ordered was delicious. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. It truly feels like a hidden gem. One of the nicest South Indian restaurants around, with an authentic Tamil Nadu touch.

Bun parotta, Boti fry, Chicken Sukka briyani, kaadai 65 was all so good, Felt like having it at my home town. Service was good, nice Ambience, overall feel good restaurant with great food with variety of choices. Would recommend to all friends, byob is also allowed.

We went there a few times and the highlight of the place is the parotta. We are vegetarians and we loved all the kinds of parottas they have including nool parotta. We tried the egg side dishes as well that even my 6 year old daughter loved. We also tried the veg biryani and Kurmas which we loved. We have also done couple of home deliveries and our experience was really good. Would recommend anyone who is looking for authentic parotta items to make a visit here.

Food was just average. Lappa Parotta (chicken) was good. Special Briyani was MID. Also the pepper chicken was very oily.
