Went to Pochampalli, Gadwal, and Dharmavaram in summer of 2015 and looking at the weavers, decided to promote the weaver's products here in the USA. The first shipment I received from Pochampalli in Aug. 2016. As I cannot stay in India and maintain looms giving a job to the weavers, thought, promoting/selling their products here in USA will give them work to weave more sarees. Fall of 2016, made visits to Aarni, Kanchivaram, Pochampalli, Gadwal, Dharmavaram meeting the weavers and buying their products. Started ordering the sarees from the weavers. In Spring of 2018, visited Varnasi, Narayanapet, Gadwal, Hindupur to meet with the weavers and get their products. By then, I was very comfortable ordering sarees directly from them and promoting them here. In January 2019, had a chance to visit Kanchivaram again. So blessed to visit Kanchi Kamakshi temple again. Was able to handpick a few Kanchivaram silks. Also, I was able to visit Yeola after visiting Shirdi. So fascinated to see the looms in each and every house in Yeola. Handpicked a few paithani sarees after visiting the weavers. I feel very comfortable ordering these beautiful weaves for my USA customers. Purpose of NCIndianWeavers is to give more work to our Indian Weavers by buying their products directly from them and selling them here in the USA, India and other places if possible.
