Meera developed an enthusiastic interest in dancing at the age of 5 in Sri Lanka and subsequently began her formal Bharathanatyam training under the tutelage of Smt. Kirupa Ratneswaran. Meera’s training continued in India with Shri. Madurai R. Muralidharan and Smt. Chithra Muralidharan. Meera performed in stage productions all over Germany and is appreciative to have had the rare opportunity to have performed with her Guru at various shows. After moving to Canada, she continued her passion in Bharathanatyam, where she predominantly participated in numerous dance ballets including Veera Thai as “Veera Thai”, Pandara Vaniyan as “Pandara Vaniyan” and Silapathigaram as “Kannaki”. During the years 2000 to 2002, Meera was actively involved in introducing Bharathanatyam to the Christian community.
