I have always been passionate about Bharatnatyam, even as a child. I had given up the thought of learning and was actually looking for classes for my daughter. Thanks to Pavitra who not only re-kindled my passion. She taught (still teaching) me not just this divine art form how to navigate it. We have a bunch of passionate adult students who are all my tribe now. Pavitra adjusted the adavu patterns, introduced warm ups to enable body conditioning for adults while ensuring we don’t hurt ourselves in the process. When I hurt my foot just before an event, the eve of the event she re-choreographed a whole segment to ensure I don’t feel the pain while I dance and motivated me to get on stage. I have not only discovered my passion but a friend for life in her.

My 9 yr old daughter has been attending with Priya Dance Academy for past few months. She had her first Bharatnatyam recital and we are so impressed with her growth and especially the hardwork and attention that Ms. Pavitra puts on each dancer.
