As a student of six years at Archana Nrityalaya, I can proudly say that getting the opportunity to learn from Archana Tai has been one of the greatest blessings of my entire life. In fact, the impact of her tutelage, both in and outside of the classroom, cannot be quantified into the five stars of this rating. I highly doubt that it could be counted in thousands of them either. When I began learning with Archana Tai in sixth grade, I wasn’t very happy. Kathak dance had so many guidelines, so many rules. The dance required so much effort and discipline, and with Archana Tai as my guru, I had to strive for perfection. And I definitely was not disciplined or motivated enough to do it at that age, and it was because of my drawbacks that I almost considered quitting my tutelage. Today, I proudly say that continuing was one of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made. The rules that I eventually internalized define my character today, in both dance and society. Every single lesson in her studio is test of the decorum she has taught and continues to teach me: Do I appear confident and strong every time I move my body to the rhythm? How about my hair, my attire? Have I dressed to succeed in class? And lest we forget, how am I reciting poems and compositions? Is my performance acceptable, or exemplary? Most importantly, how do I respond to my critiques? Do I dare to retaliate out of sheer impulse, or accept my mistakes and respect both my progress and my teacher’s wishes and try again? I face the questions every single day when I return, and try to make the right decisions as Tai has taught me. Yes, Tai can be strict. She pays attention to the nitty-gritty details, and strives for intense perfection. She may break down her students to begin, but rebuilds then into future dancers and leaders. Her endless care for her students is reflected in every single conversation she has with her students. These attributes that distinguish her from other teachers and academies. The schooling that we students receive here is arguably beyond any other Kathak education we can receive. Here, we learn to push the boundaries the boundaries of ourselves and dance, so that we can do the same in life. Thank you, Archana Tai. For everything you have taught me and will continue to to teach me both inside and outside of your classroom.

My daughter Vaani has been learning dance ( semi classical and contemporary ) from Nritya creations from past 2 years. Her teachers Ms Serita and Ms Aayushma are excellent and very creative . We can see a lot of improvement in her dance with the technique used by the teachers. This has helped them to win competitions too!

Our daughter has trained in western dancing for several years. However, her love of Bollywood songs and movies led to her affinity with eastern dancing. She didn’t want to focus on just Bollywood dancing but wanted to pay homage to her South Indian roots and incorporate some form of classical dancing along with western dance techniques. Nritya Creations (NC)offered just that, an Indo-Contemporary class that incorporated Classical, Lyrical, and Jazz. NC and its teachers have provided a wonderful outlet for our daughter to perfect her technique and learn the art form. She has become even more confident and poised over the past 3 years, all the while having fun.

Year after year, the level of the performers keeps getting better. It is enthralling to see the progression of the little ones blossoming into such a fine dancers. But it would not have been possible if they had not find the Guru like Archana Tai. These kids are so blessed to have such Kathak legend like her in their life. And as the parents we are fortunate too. She and her faculty show students how far they have to go and what life long commitment to the art form means.

When you cannot decide which one of your favorite from an evening full of classical dances, you know that its an evening thoroughly enjoyed. I have seen several recitals over last 10 years thanks to my daughter's involvement. Archanaji's commitment, dedication, involvement in every single detail and the effortless ease with which you seem to make it all come together (though I know it can't be easy at all) is tremendously worthy of appreciation.

The annual show, 'Rhythm of Life' is just REMARKABLE, DISTINCT, MESMERIZING and it was so much more that few words cannot describe it. Archanaji's passion, knowledge and art really shows as you watch every student as they perform! Coal needs to be put under pressure to become diamonds and the kids and their parents really get it!! The structure, the sequence, the pace, the selection, your performance and the culmination pieces - everything was outstanding and a visual treat.

I have been dancing with Nritya Creations since I was 9 years old, and attending the Bharatantyam and Indo-contemporary classes have truly allowed me to grow into the dancer I have become today. The emphasis that is placed on having flawless technique in every dance form has been especially helpful, and the lessons that I have learned throughout the years is something I know I will carry with me in the future, as well. The close-knit relationship between the teachers and students also creates an amazing culture in the studio. I can't thank all the teachers enough for everything they have done!

I’ve been learning at Nritya creations and enjoying all the different fusion styles from Semiclassical to bolly hip hop to indo contemporary for the past many years.I have developed as a dancer much more because of exposure to varied dance forms. Ms.Melanie’s style and demeanor are beyond par and I also enjoy Ms.Angelina’s exciting choreography which challenges us an advanced competition team each class. My daughter is learning Bharathanatiyam in Nritya creations in 6th year.Mr.Damir is her guru. Rarely we see the teachers who are friendly with kids at the same time control over class. Kids does not loose the interest to learn. Mr.Damir is the one who has complete control, consistent and I do see his passion in Bharathanatiyam when he teaches kids. I strongly recommend him as great teacher.

Raiya is now 14 and she has more confidence in front of an audience than most adults as far as performing whether it be a dance, acting, singing. It stems from an early start with Nritya Creations. The teachers are dedicated and educate the children and build confidence to perform and execute in front of an audience. We believe that this aspect is under appreciated but really impacts the children. Thanks to Nritya, Raiya has built more and more self confidence through the years and it has impacted her in school and in her life. My daughter has been taking lessons for about 8 years and I took lessons as well for about 3 years or so. Teachers are excellent, committed to growth of students as dancers. Tatyana takes personal interest in each student, has been very patient correcting mistakes minor (and not minor). Excellent dance choreography as well.

My daughters were learning Bollywood style at the Edison ( Iselin) Center... I loved the way the classes were conducted... Very professional teacher ( Ms Kena). My girls danced with more confidence and zeal. The Admin staff is also very cooperative. I also saw classical form bring taught there and they were good. Overall a good experience
