Our Director, Joan Sullivan McDonough, has had numerous accomplishments in the field of Gymnastics and Dance. Throughout her career spanning across more than 38 years - Joan has achieved the highest of awards and distinctions in the field of gymnastics and dance: Former Braintree High School Girls Varsity Gymnastics Team Captain, State Champion, Braintree High School Gymnastics Team, State-Wide All-Around Individual Gymnastics Champion, Member of the University of Massachusetts Gymnastics Team, Bay State Gymnastics Champion, New England Gymnastics Champion, Former NFL New England Patriots Cheerleader And more… Presently, Joan is a professional member of the United States Gymnastics Federation and is currently the Head Coach of the Varsity Gymnastics Team at Thayer Academy. She was inducted into the Braintree High School Athletic Hall of Fame on April 26, 1997 as an Individual Gymnastics Champion and as a Captain of her ’75 Gymnastics Team in 2001. Through her instruction Joan provides the insight and seemingly-effortless style which marks the form and intellect of a winner in her field. Our instructors are experienced and professionally trained individuals who have been selected on their ability to teach correct fundamentals and techniques. They possess an enthusiasm and a fun, competitive spirit that makes it easy for children to learn. We use our Olympic-style facilities and professional experience to create an excellent educational environment for your child.
