Hello, I am Mrs. Mayuri Swapnil Karandikar, residing in Kalwa (East). On the occasion of the birth of Shri Mangalagauri, Meet Kalakar had organized Mangalagauri games at my residence. The friends of 'Shravansari Group', suggested by Priya Madam of Meet Kalakar, came to my residence and gave a well-planned presentation with great enthusiasm. In fact, despite playing games at other places throughout the day, we played games at our house at night without getting tired with the same energy. Even though the space at our residence was small, Yamini Madam, Smita Madam and the entire group of Shravansari took care of us and performed all the games with great enthusiasm without showing any deficiency. They also enjoyed the games by involving our relatives in the games. In fact, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude and Hat's Off !!! I would like to specially praise Mrs. Smita Shitole Madam for the hard work that 'Shravansari Group' is putting in to go beyond profit and loss and only to cultivate our culture and tradition. Age is just a number... But their enthusiasm is even more amazing than that of a young girl!! Pooja's sweet voice and Vishal's beautiful tabla accompaniment enhanced the program. Once again, a heartfelt thank you to Shravanasari Group and Meet Kalakar for providing such an enthusiastic group!

Group arrived very late, which caused a lot of rush. And then they had to speed through the performance. Performance was fine - but lots of hindi-filmy songs - would be good if they could have stuck to more traditional and event specific songs.

Booked threw Meetkalakar ,Shivadhyna grp for Mangalagaur of my dil. It was simply fantastic ??. We were a little late to start the program. But nothing was too much trouble. We all got involved and played different games. One of my daughters-in-law is Gujarati and the other is Punjabi, she and Vihina Bai also enjoyed it a lot.

Booked Santoor Artist Manali Mam via Meet Kalakaar for a lite music night for my family. She was very open to song suggestions and went out of her way in giving a memorable Santoor instrumental as well as vocal performance for us. I have been a student of John's for the past 8-9 years, starting when I was in middle school. I have had such a fun time learning from John, he's incredibly passionate about his teaching and his infectious joy when explaining rajas and improvisation moved onto me! John has taught me over 20+ ragas by this time, and we have even done Western music (Bach, etc.), Jazz-inspired compositions, and Irish-folk-song-inspired creations. Coming from a background in Western classical piano, I had no background on Indian music and the music theory behind it. I have learned so much from John, but the best part is how he teaches! He's extremely supportive, joyful, and passionate about what he does, and I couldn't have found a better guru!

He made sure that the sessions were recorded, and guided me to procure books from: Sanskar Prakashan, Mumbai, which helped me become self-reliant. I was searching very hard for a teacher who could teach me Hindustani vocal & meet Kalakar just gave me that. Deepa Sathe madam is really teaching me very well & as i work in a thermal power plant it is very hard for me to make some time for my classes. but she has lot of patience, in spite of all my problems with network & timings,she is really helping me a lot, with my schedule to teach me the music I am very thankful to meet Kalakar for making my dreams come true. meet Kalakar as it says provides platform for music lovers & music teachers.

I am 50 years old and always had liking towards music . Due to some reason or other I could never pay any attention and there by ignored even the basic understanding of music . Off late I decided to learn Hindustani Vocal . However due to many un avoidable reasons could not know how to start about it . In the mean while I came across the web site of meetkalakar . When contacted , after few interaction with Meetkalakar I could get to know Mr. Harshad Dongre an excellent young and talented person who could teach me the basics of Hindustani Vocals . Now sitting at home I have started the basics of Hindustani vocal under the guidance of Harshad Sir and hopefully I could continue further for the rest of my life . It is possible always to pull out some time and try to full fill our left out aspiration at any point of life .

I am getting lessons on classical vocal Sangeet through e-learning by meetkalarar artist Shri Prashant Kalundrekar. Earlier before joining, I did not have any idea about e- learning of classical sangeet. But after joining and completing 5 classes, I felt it is very very helpful, interesting and effective. May be because of the technique adopted by artist Shri Prashant Sir is unique and excellent. I am enjoining his teaching technique and growing interest in classical sangeet day by day. Though I started very very late in my life, still I am gradually feeling growing interest within me and trying to enter into the deep of this subject.

I Regina will continue my vocal lessons, so as my daughter will start her flute lessons soon. The bansuri flute is one of the most sensual and serene instruments to come out of India...... Only a couple of Westerners have mastered its intricacy one is John Wubbenhorst.

An excellent debut by a new artist in the area of World Musi Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 1999 World Music can often be a hotch-potch of styles but Mr.Wubbenhorst has managed to avoid that in his recording debut. A flutist, who plays both the Western instrument and the Indian bamboo flute or bansuri, Wubbenhorst works with a variety of Western and Indian instruments to create a new and exciting sound. The rhythmic basis of the music, generated by Indian tabla player Sandip Barman is particularly interesting. On top of this, Wubbenhorst layers a variety of colors and patterns, and at the very top, gives us flute improvisations with a mixture of jazz and Indian influences. The end result is a sound that is clean, fresh and invigorating, leavened with moments of meditative serenity that the bamboo flute is beautifully suited for. This is a fine debut. If you enjoy jazz, World Music or any similar genres and you are a little jaded by the sameness of current issues, give Facing East a chance, I think you will be pleasantly surprised

As a teacher, John Wubbenhorst communicates a clear and profound understanding and experience of the rich tradition of Northern India’s classical music. The focus of my classes was on Rag Yaman: it’s emotional mood, melodic outline, ornamentations, variations, as well as improvisational approaches to this raga. Studying Yaman as a foundation to understanding other ragas, was a great place to begin to study this vast realm. I learned a lot from my few months of study with John, in which, at my request, he facilitated translating a bansuri approach to the western flute. I highly recommend him as a teacher.

My name is Veena Nair, I joined Soor Academy in 1995, and then moved to Dubai, from where I pursued my learnings with Pallavi Mehta whose tireless effort of teaching even when I was far away in Dubai, it seemed not so far away. I was always fascinated by the beautiful instrument that Sitar is, I started taking classes in the eleventh standard but that was for a short while as the pressure of my class XII board exams took over. Subsequently I graduated from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore in 2010 and started working at a law firm in Bombay. My fascination for the seven stringed beauty resurfaced and I found an excellent guru in Pallavi didi to guide me in learning the Sitar. My days at Soor Academy have been joyful and merry. I took some lessons of Sitar in Mumbai, with Pallavi Mehta, but as I live in Paris, 7000 km from there, I also wanted to practice when I was back home.
