The food was excellent and the space itself has a cool 80s shore throwback vibe. Only thing that needs improvement is communication during service but it would not keep me from returning. If you're going for lunch, ask for the lunch Thali. It's like taking a 30 minute flavor vacation to India.

I live right up the street from this lovely restaurant and it never disappoints. From the appetizers, main courses, and even the deserts, everything is always so tasty! Definitely give this place a try if you haven’t yet!!

Excellent food and service 4.5 stars. I removed one star because of oiliness in the food. I think they can reduce oil quantity in their subji. Food was good but too much oil in the saak/subji. Service was good and good atmosphere overall.

Appetizers and entrees are priced high. For eg Butter naan is like $5 each. Biryani is $20-22.. Service is slow.

I had taken out their Weekday lunch box (Chicken) which was reasonable in price and taste was amazing. After inquiring about their most liked dishes, I also ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and that too was amazingly tasty. Definitely recommended restaurant for indian food lover and to have a real indian restaurant food. Their dining area looked awesome as well.

Food was pretty good, some long wait times when waiting for the waiter. Found a chicken bone in my vegan dinner, that was unfortunate. Was told that it was just human error and to just omit the tip. Somewhat nice people, but I won't be going back anytime soon. Their playlist also seemed to be the same 5-7 songs on a loop. There are places for improvement

Food is delicious and service is excellent. A bit disappointed because the website claimed there was weekend lunch buffet but when we drove there we were told that the buffet is no longer available and they only serve a la carte. Price for food is comparatively expensive but the portions are big and the taste of the dal makhani and the chicken biryani is excellent.

Great food and decent sized portions. They have both vegetarian and vegan entrees. I've had dinner there many times and their weekend buffet once. It is very appealing with a large selection. My only not positive comment is that it used to be reasonable price wise but they are now in the $40 a person range without added surcharge and tip if you get bread and appetizer with an entree .The buffet is $25.

I'm so glad for this new Indian restaurant in Keyport. We had chicken tikka masala and goat kolhapuri for lunch. Food is authentic and comes with a good portion, and the service is excellent. I highly recommend the homemade mango and pistachio ice cream for dessert. Many vegan dishes are available for your non-meat eating friends and family.

Delicious food and good service. Been there for our first time ( just browsed near by restaurants )and surprisingly food was delicious with good portions. Kids loved Malai Paneer Tikka, so had to order it twice. Definitely a recommend place and will make this a go to place for indian restaurant around this area.

The food and drinks were all delicious. Since we haven't really had Indian food before we tried to stick with familiar things. The butter chicken and chicken tikka masala were amazing. I highly recommend the lassuni gobi (its a cauliflower appetizer). The naan is so good! Get the mango yogurt drink!! The service was fast and super friendly. Aangara is a fine indian restuarant that offers delicious and scrumptuous indian delicacies that are of high quality at a decent price point. While we had food at several restuarants in NJ over the years Aangara is one of the very few that actually delivered an authentic flavor, decent presentation with a great service. The staff are friendly and nice. We are happy to find such a good indian restaurant near us.

Great to see a good Indian restaurant in Keyport. Came here for dinner and had the chicken tikka masala. Chicken was very tender and sauce was nicely spiced and has a great flavor. Menu has a lot of options and even included a vegan and vegetarian section. It's also BYOB which is always nice. Will be visiting again.

We went to this restaurant, and the food was amazing. Samosas are fresh, and they don't feel oily. The naans and kofta, butter panner are the too good . In the non-veg section, the sizzlers are exceptionally good; it's hard to put into words. Definitely want to go back with family and friends. Can't wait to go again. Don't miss homemade kulfi's .

Delicious, just delicious! I’ve been waiting for so long for there to be a restaurant like this in Keyport. I would honestly eat here every single day every bite was just SO GOOD. I started with the cucumber salad, which was crisp and refreshing. My body lit up with the flavors and the freshness. Next, I tried the assorted chutney, my favorite is the sweet one, but they were all very flavorful. The crispy bread served with it was light and made me feel so good. After that, I dove into my mulligatawny soup. It was warm, thick and somehow very light. It felt amazing on my tongue and in my stomach. For my main course I ordered the palak paneer, its cottage cheese cubes and spinach. Sometimes when I order this at a different restaurant, it feels heavy. This felt so light and at the same time filling! I got the butter Naan just to try it, even though my dish was served with rice. Both rice and naan were perfect. The wait staff was attentive, and I could tell that each dish was made with care. The ambience is lovely. I already told my family about it and I can’t wait to go back. Oh, I forgot about the complementary mango lassi they served me in a champagne flute. It was out of this world.

We visited this place when we were heading back home from Keansburg beach on a weekend. Didn’t except anything when we planned for this, it was one of the closest places to the beach. I was impressed with the ambience and the quality of the food. We ordered chicken 65, roti, paneer tikka masala, goat biryani and few desserts. Everything was so delicious and full of flavors. Would definitely visit back if we get chance.

We gad the Mango Goat which was very tasty but had too much bone and gristle to get 5 stars. Chicken Tikka Masala was very good as was the Butter Naan! Our server Bundi was attentive and offered more than we needed. I hope they will do well and stay for many years to come. Ask about spice levels. We had the mild level which suits me but there are medium and higher levels for people who like that better.

The best Indian I have ever had . It’s authentic and spices were on point .yellow dal , bangan burtha and channa masala’s dishes were bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection.

The food was incredible. As others mentioned the butter nan was so good. Appetizers of Samosa Chat and Lassuni Gobi - garlic infused cauliflower- set the stage for the Chiken Tikka Masala. The customer service could not have been better. We will be back to try other dishes on the menu.

I was not too sure about the place when I parked my car as it did but look promising but once I went in I was pleasantly surprised. Amazing fresh Indian food. It was very delicious, tasty and close to home taste. Staff was very nice and service was excellent. Desserts were very nice, my favorite was orange kulfi.

Aangara is new to Keyport. My wife and I went for a nice meal. We ordered veg samosas, butter chicken, and one or two other items….fabulous. Good portions…We couldn’t eat it all. The wait staff was sweet and attentive. You will definitely find us here again soon. I think this place would be ideal too for people on the Henry Hudson Trail. It is literally on the trail in Keyport. Would be a great lunch or dinner stop if you hiking or biking the trail. They also had vegan options.

We ordered take out for dinner tonight and everything was delicious and fresh. The chicken and ginger soup was amazing and everything was cooked to each of the spice levels we asked for. The people working there were so kind. We will be back!!

By far the BEST Indian restaurant in Central Jersey...and I say this after having tried out almost all the Indian resturants in this area. We stopped by at this new restaurant for dinner last night after reading some good reviews about this place and I must admit that the experience we had, exceeded our expectations. We tried MIXED CHICKEN SIZZLER for Appetizer and it was delicious. The chicken was absolutely fresh and tender. We had DAAL MAKHNI and GARLIC NAAN for our main course both of which were cooked to perfection.For dessert, we had MOONG DAAL ka HALWA which was filled with nuts and was very tasty. We had a MASALA SODA as well which was quite refreshing. Coming to the service part of it, i must say that both the manager and the server took great care of our requests and provided a top notch service. Overall the experience was fantastic and we are definitely going back.

So excited and delighted to have Aangara locally. So many good things to say about this fine Indian restaurant. First a generous selection of Vegan and Vegetarian dishes. Samosa chat is one of my favorite of theirs. And a fine selection of deserts (mango kulfi.. yumm) The restaurant has room for small groups and couples. Also A nice selection of non alcoholic mojitos - I recommend the mango mojito. Plus Wonderful, attentive and conscientious service by all the staff there who look after their patrons. Finally, the atmosphere inside is Lovely; and outside the restaurant there is a nice area to take a walk before or after the meal. : p Enjoy!

This delightful Indian restaurant is tucked away in a residential area on Maple Place in historic Keyport, NJ. The service and food are stellar. The Lassuni Gobi was delicious and the generous portion was shared by 2 of us. Delighted to have so many vegan options. The Tofu Matter Masala was flavorful, fresh and scrumptious. My husband ordered the Delhi Style Butter Chicken and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff was friendly, gracious, knowledgable and attentive. Looking forward to our next visit to taste other items on their extensive menu. Wonderful addition to the Keyport restaurant scene.

Where do I start??? Food was Delicious.. The chutney and sauces were tasty along with butter garlic Naan that was so good we got 2 orders. We had chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Rogenjosh. The meat was so tender and the authentic taste will keep us coming back. The service was impeccable. They couldn't for enough for us. We are planning our next visit here. A true gem for the neighborhood. No need to go anywhere else.

OK, this is the second time in my entire 63 years that I have gone to an Indian restaurant. The first one was up in Union, New Jersey. I do not remember the name but it’s been there a long time and it was horrible. This restaurant in Middletown was the best food, I have ever eaten. We had the corn chaat appetizer we also had some thing that looked like two big dumplings with vegetables in it. Excellent. I had the butter chicken. My grandson had a vegetarian dish with sauce and fresh veggies from soup to nuts. This was the best Indian food I have ever had my grandson would eat here every night if he could now I know what he was begging me to eat kudos and good luck with this Indian restaurant. The food is authentic and delicious. Even the dessert was good. Service is impeccable. Check it out.!!!! sorry this restaurant is located in Keyport. I think it took over the old diner that used to be there. Keyport. You rock with the best Indian restaurant.

I read some of the reviews before visiting, and honestly I thought that the food probably wouldn’t be as good for Indians and vegetarians. But I was pleasantly surprised! Their paneer tikka masala was hands down the best I’ve had in the US. And the best Indian food I’ve had since I visited India a year ago. Never has methi (fenugreek) been used so beautifully. I live in Massachusetts and no Indian restaurant up there has this good food! Immediately after leaving the restaurant, I called a friend in Midwest, asking him to visit New Jersey just for a dinner here. I’d definitely visit again. Just a suggestion - I think they were a bit understaffed, or probably too busy because it took them a while to take my order. Adding more people would be great. Overall, a great experience and I’d definitely visit when I’m in the area again.

This was the most amazing, delicious meal we've had in a very long time!!! The staff were so accomodating and friendly! They were helpful in explaining the menu and spice levels. They recommended we start off with Pani Puri....Wow!! My son and I couldn't believe the amazing flavor! We ordered vegetable samosa, tandoori lamb chops and palak paneer. We couldn't stop ooh'ing, and aagh'ing!! We can't wait to go back, and we'll be telling everyone we know, to give it a try! Thank you, Aangara for the beautiful meal!

I was born and raised in Keyport, and when my parents told me about the new Indian spot in my hometown- I was in disbelief due my to excitement. Today, I finally got to try it and all I have to say is: I’ve been eating Indian cuisine since childhood, and currently live in NYC with some of the greatest restaurants in the world- Aangara is, hands down, some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. From the food, to the service, to the large offerings catering to all dietary restrictions- vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free- you name it, they will have a dish for you. Do not sleep on this place- you’ll definitely regret not having visited sooner.

Aangara is a real gem. Great food and great people. We came in for an early dinner with a family of 6 + baby. The waitstaff was kind and attentive. Best new restaurant in Central New Jersey! Keep it up guys!

Generous portions and a lot of vegan options- there's an entirely section of vegan entrees! And the staff is very kind and attentive as well. Some things are a little spicy even when ordered mild so if you're sensitive to spice, keep that in mind.

As a big fan of Indian food who has dined at many restaurants I can without a shadow of a doubt say that both the service and food here are better than anywhere else. The Naan was the perfect blend of crisp and soft and the food was bursting with lovely herbal notes. If you are in the area Aangara Indian Cuisine is an absolute must visit.

We came for lunch today, and the food was by far the best Indian food I ever had. I highly recommend the malai kofta, the veg dum biryani, the crispy palak chaat, the burnt malai paneer tikka, and the kulfi platter. Nitin, the server was an amazing person. From greeting us to the restaurant all the way to the end, and recommending the best dishes. Will definitely come back to this restaurant again!

We have been to this place a few times and the food is top notch. The chef is ready to adjust the taste as per your preference with some of us wanting the ‘authentic Indian’ taste and the rest preferring a more milder version. Both turned out very well. The Dahi (Yogurt) kebabs, Dal(Lentils) and okra were very nice for vegetarians. The tandoori items like the angara chicken tikka and Goat gravy were very nice too. Good job !!

Finally got to try the food everyone is raving about…. And it did not disappoint! Everything was delicious and served beautifully. Staff was extremely helpful. As someone with celiacs, it’s not always easy to find a large list of items to choose from, so I was pleasantly surprised and will be going back often! Oh- and definitely make sure you hit that dessert menu ??

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Aangara, and it was truly an exceptional experience. The Bihari chicken kebab and Afghani chicken korma were bursting with flavor and, perfectly cooked. These 2 dishes were a standout, with just the right amount of heat that we requested—Indian spice level at its best! The bullet naan was incredibly soft from the inside and had the perfect crispness on the edges. Orange Kulfi, crispy corn chaat and chicken biryani is a must try. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making sure that every detail was taken care of. The owner is very welcoming and genuinely interested in customer feedback. If you're looking for authentic Indian cuisine with great service, I highly recommend this place. I'll definitely be coming back!

Some of the best Indian food I've had. The restaurant is around the corner from my daughter's house. We picked up dinner to-go a couple of weeks ago. Tried several different entrees and appetizers, everything was delicious and their prices are very reasonable.

My daughter and I had lunch here a few weeks ago and I couldn’t wait to take my husband. Bill walks with a cane and the staff went out of their way to make him comfortable. We had Chicken Tikka Masala, and butter garlic naan. Our meal was so delicious! The service was friendly and helpful. After lunch we were too full to order dessert, but they brought over a delightful mini dessert to share which we’ll order next time. I’ve forgotten the name but it was a mango Indian ice cream that was light and yummy!! I love that they have Indian music lightly playing, adding to the atmosphere. There are cloth napkins which I love and it’s clean and decorated with curtains and plants. It’s very inviting. When we were leaving, staff opened the doors for us. What a lovely, friendly place! We’ll be back again.

Best Indian food we’ve had in New Jersey. They ask what spice level you prefer which is great. Excellent and friendly waiter. We found our new favorite place for Indian food. We ordered chicken vindaloo, aloo gobi, palak paneer and samosa for appetizer. Pistachio kulfi and ajar halaa for desert.

Ever since Haldi Chawk changed owners and the new menu pushing fusion dishes, we've been on the look out for more Indian food options. Well, since Aangara opened, they have been our go to Indian cuisine. We eat there onice a week or two! The menu has a large variety of items, and we've been happy with every item ordered. From the apps to the tandoori, lamb chop tandoori, eggplant bharta, lamb, chicken , shrimp curries of all varieties, biriyani, we've been very happy with the taste, quality and portion size. This restaurant is also quite big and get for large groups as well!

Outstanding! I was so happy to see an Indian restaurant open nearby. Truly authentic food and not some Americanized version. We had the Lamb Korma and Shrimp Kolhapuri plus the Crunchy Palak Chat for an app. Everything we ate was delicious and full of flavor. The service was excellent as well. This indian restaurant might well be our favorite Indian restaurant. Very pleasant atmosphere. Young waitress was excellent. Nice and attentive. Food was excellent. Good portions and delicious. We had ordered the vegetable samosa as an appertizer and a mango lassi drink (mango puree). For entrees, one order of chicken tikki masala. They were kind to make lamb also with the tikki masala sauce. So we ordered 2 that way. I ordered the lamb vindaloo. We all ordered the mild version for all our dishes which was perfect for our taste. Everything was delicious.

The pictures shown in other reviews match the consistency I’ve had both in delivery and dinning in. The food quality is better than I’ve had in the area. Every dish had its own distinct flavors and the soups are well made. It’s a BYOB and they have all needed glassware etc..They have a good system for spice levels mild-Indian level spicy. My brother got “Indian level” vindaloo and it made him literally pour sweat in a good way while enjoying the flavors

Went in to pick up take out for the first time. The staff went above and beyond welcoming us. They were generous and absolutely lovely. While waiting for our food, we were given delicious samples of desserts and drinks. The food we brought home was so so good! I definitely look forward to going back with the family to eat in the beautiful restaurant.

I've eaten here twice and had one take out order. Indian food has been my favorite for many years and I've had it in NY, St. Lucia, Tanzania Guyana and more. This is hands down the BEST food ever. The atmosphere is like eating at someone's home: warm, inviting and great service. The last time I went I took my adult children. My daughter sent me a text the next day that she was dreaming of her return!

We ordered delivery tonight and everything was so delicious! The portions were large. The lamb and chicken were so soft and delicious. Only complaint was that the two veg biryani meals we got were different in spice level despite both being requested mild. Next time I will just make sure to call to emphasize the spice levels! I was so excited to try this place and my MIL took me for my birthday yesterday. And I felt so bad for the staff, which they are extremely short on. I waited about one hour just to get my food. Everyone came in all at once and the staff was flustered. The food however was insanely good. I know they are still new. They will work their kinks out. But please try this place it's incredible

Definitely 5 stars all around. We've only recently become fans of Indian cuisine, and we just came home from a wonderful dinner at Aangara. We'd been encouraged by family to try it out as a possible caterer our daughter's wedding celebration. For sure, we'll look no further. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious, the service was everything you could ask for and we all agreed Aangara will become a regular for our family moving forward. It seemed like other patrons were similarly ecstatic about their dinners. This is a must try even if you've not yet learned to love Indian food.

We always did delivery or takeout from here. Last week we actually went there and dined in! The food tasted even better fresh eating there. Food is great and very tasty. You can taste all the flavors and the food is not bland like some places. We recently moved in the are and this is our go to Indian food spot now!

My family and I have had Indian food in Edison at several good places but this was better. We were so pleased with quite a variation in shared meals. So fresh and cooked as ordered. Sauces and breads soo amazing. Key in on spice level as they are accommodating. Service was great. It took longer as we skipped appetizers but that's because it was being cooked right upon our order. You will enjoy and I hope they are around a long time. NJ offers us a great diversity in authentic cuisine. Glad Keyport is close to home.

Went last night for the first time, but it definitely will not be the last! I am blown away by how great the food is. I love Indian food, and I can honestly say this is some of the best I have ever had, including Manhattan. The Delhi Butter Chicken was beyond fantastic. My friend had the Chicken Biryani that was truly superb! The service was incredible...very attentive and gracious. Lovely people. I can't wait to go back. I can't recommend this restaurant enough!!! I never had Indian food before so this was new to me. I thought the whole experience was pretty good. The portions were large enough to share we had leftovers to take home. Aangara was fantastic. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. They listened to a couple of the dietary restrictions that our party had. The food was incredible, especially for the reasonable price point. And the best part was, when we asked them to make the food spicy, they did! Will definitely be going back.

My husband and I visited Aangara with our teenage daughter st her request. We ordered garlic cauliflower and fried shrimp appetizers. They were delicious! My husband ordered a grown salad and both my daughter and I got the cucumber salad, again delicious. The owner came around periodically and asked us if we were happy with the food and spice level. When we got our entrees Butter chicken and chicken mixed grill... The owner noticed that I didn't eat one of the chicken elements on the grill platter and asked why. I told him no worries I just didn't like it. He had the chef prepare some grilled chicken for me to go. My daughter and I split dessert. She ordered Indian ice cream an mango lasso, and a sweet plate. Everything was GREAT!!!

The food, service, and ambiance are all top-notch. One can easily sense the quality. The portions are decent in size, and despite all the positives, we didn't feel like the cost was high. It was quite reasonable and courteous at its best. The chef was able to tailor the food to our taste buds, ensuring a personalized dining experience. Keep up the good work!

UPDATED: Came across this restaurant and decided to order takeout. I can not say enough good things about the customer service received from the owner all the way to staff. They had personally called to understand the issue with the food and made things right without even being asked to. If only all businesses treated their customers with this much care and respect. The food was just as expected and delicious. Needless to say, we will definitely be going back to this restaurant.

The service here was very good, they don't rush you and will make the spice level to your preference. Th ambience is clean, cozy, inviting with Indian music playing in the dining room. We ordered a lot of food, and we enjoyed our meal and had to bring a lot home. Everything was freshly made, the aromas were so nice, and we felt that this restaurant was a very nice addition to the food selections this area needed. This is authentic and we will return!

We stumbled upon this restaurant as we were looking for some Indian food in the area. We are so pleased with the experience we had! We started out with the Malai Chicken sizzler and Masala Papad. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the mint chutney that accompanied it provided a great acidic contrast. The Masala papad was light and crispy. For dinner, we ordered Malai Kofta, Veg Kohlapuri, Dal Makhani, and assorted naans. The Malai Kofta was the perfect balance of sweetness, richness, and spice - probably our favorite dish of the night. The Veg Kohlapuri was tangy and full of spice. The Dal Makahni was authentically prepared and hearty. All the naans were well seasoned and had great texture. The portions were incredibly generous and they can accommodate all spice tolerances. We were also able to meet the owners/head chef and they were extremely kind, passionate, and knowledgeable about their craft. Overall we had an amazing experience and will definitely be back soon! We wish them continued success for the future!

Found this place on Uber eats and ordered dinner. Sev Batata Puri Chaat, Samosa Chaat, Delhi Style butter chicken, Chicken Chapli Kebab are the items we tried. And all of them tasted great and good portion sizes. Very neatly packed as well. Will definitely go in-person and try other items on menu.

Aangara’s Indian food is amazing! Our server, Sandy, makes sure all of the main course meal (butter chicken and grilled chicken biryani kebabs) come out at the same time. The cheese naan, vegetable samosas, and roasted papad crackers taste so good! Everything has so much flavor and the ambience is great with a cozy feel. Aangara is the best Indian restaurant in the Keyport area.

Very friendly staff, they even gave me a drink on the house, the mango Lasi was sweet and tangy and a perfect consistency. The chicken kabab on the appetizers was good but I expected it to be chicken skewers. Lamb is tender and perfect seasoned well. Naan is fluffy.

The food is outstanding, but their prices have gone WAY up since opening. Some sides and appetizers even doubled in price. I hate to say I have to find a new place! But if you do not eat Indian as often as I do, this is an EXCELLENT choice!!!! You will not be disappointed.

I’m usually a very picky eater but I had an amazing dinner. The chicken takka masala was delicious. The dessert (mango kulfi) was so good I got seconds. The staff was amazing and helpful with picking out items I’d like. I can’t say enough positive things about this place I wish I stopped by sooner!

We've been searching for a close Indian spot and Aangara did not disappoint! The butter chicken was our favorite! I love how they customize the spice level to your liking, just be prepared the spicy is actually SPICY. Each portion was enough to be shared by 2 people. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I were welcomed warmly by the hostess and the level of service continued with the entire wait staff. They were kind, attentive, and prompt. We ordered gobi lasooni, samosa chat, mojitos (guava and mango), and chana palak. The spice level met my husbands expectations (medium Indian), who was born and raised in India. Everything was very fresh, hot, and crisp Loved it so much that we will definitely be back and hope they will cater our upcoming party.

We finally were able to come here over the weekend and it was just as impressive as everyone says! First of all everyone who works there is so nice and accommodating. The vegetable samosas and garlic naan were 10/10. I got the paneer tikka masala and it was SO good. I got it mild and will definitely go spicier next time. Can’t wait to go back!

Staff is fantastic and the food is amazing. As soon as we walked in, we felt welcomed . The service was excellent. They made sure that we were comfortable. The food smelled delicious .. I live probably 2 minutes away from this spot, and I am so lucky for it! They have incredible food, they are extremely accommodating, and the vibe inside is awesome. Definitely worth the trip, and in my top 3 Indian restaurants that I’ve been to :) Try the malai kofta / the chaat appetizer. Also the bullet naan and onion naan are amazing !

Food here was delishous! The Chicken Ginger soup was to die for if you are a fan of ginger. The Tandoori Chicken was lonely and perfectly spiced. The Spiced Chickpea and Spinich Curry was spiiiiicy! All in all we enjoyed our lunch very much!

Very delicious food and friendly service. Sandy was super friendly and offered great service. We ordered many different chats and every one of them was super tasty and well presented. Paani for Paani poori could use a little more spice and flavor but everything else tasted great. Masala Chai was well made and completed our meal!

Sandy was our waiter and was excellent. I'm a vegan and he had requested the chef to make one of the dishes vegan for me. This is fifth time here and I will be back to try something new on their wonderful menu. If I can give them more stars I would this is a must go restaurant. I recommend them highly.

First time visiting this Indian Restaurant in Keyport and I was extremely satisfied with my dining experience. The ambiance was perfect for a good conversation with friends. I am also very impressed with the customer service provided by all the stuff including the owner! I would highly recommend!

I ate in and tried the malai kofta and Afghani style chicken korma. Both totally exceeded expectations. The mango lassi, chili garlic naan and panipuri were also all brilliantly flavored.

We have visited Aangara twice now and are on our way for a third visit. Every meal has been exquisite. The Mulligatawny soup was delicious. We enjoyed both the Butter Naan and Butter Garlic Naan. The Papad were crispy and roasted to perfection. The Chicken 65 appetizer was deliciously spicy and crispy with a great presentation. Both previous visits included a sizzling plate of Tandoori Lamb Chops. These bone in lamb chops were the most flavorful we’ve ever had. The plate is piled high with six chops that are moist and delicious. So far, we have sampled the Chicken Tikka Masala, which was rich and creamy, with a slight sweetness and tanginess with just the right degree of heat. The Butter Chicken we elected to have spiced “Indian style”. It was tender, spicy, aromatic, and creamy. We discovered the Mango Lassi, a wonderful creamy rich drink that will immediately calm your tastebuds should you get a bite that is a bit too spicy. Having all this wonderful food made for a delightful time, but the addition of their superb service puts this dining experience over the top. We highly recommend you visit this new gem in Keyport.

Tried this place once and now I AM IN LOVEE and the food there is FIREE!!!! They messed up one of our orders (didn’t even realize ??) and offered to change it and remake it but we denied. Yet after that, they gave us free naan and some sauce that was literally AMAZING!! 10/10 shi was fire!! Staff was so kind and respectful, literally best people ever imo. I returned there a 2nd time with another family member who’s a bit picky but he LOVED it too. Y’all need to go if y’all wanna try some AMAZING Indian food!!!!! ??????????

Amazing food! Got takeout so can’t speak to service or atmosphere. Though it’s a little pricier, it tasted like a home cooked meal. Great portions. All these other local Indian food restaurants I’ve tried locally can’t hold a flame to Aangara. 10/10 recommend. The korma was spectacular!

9/6/24 We stumbled upon this charming little restaurant while in the area for a concert. It appears to be a converted house, adding to its unique and inviting atmosphere. Vaibhavi was an excellent server, polite, patient, and helpful. Masala soda was a refreshing start to our meal. Fish Amritsari - flavorful and tender dish, with a delightful kick of spice. Kolhapuri Chicken - Mild and it was perfectly balanced with a variety of spices. Mango Goat - Medium spicy. Was surprisingly tender, with a great balance of sweet and spicy. It wasn't gamey at all. Butter Garlic Naan - soft, garlicky, and so delicious that we ordered another serving to go. Overall, this hidden gem offered a delightful dining experience with delicious food and friendly service.

I went here on a recommendation and was not disappointed. The atmosphere is a welcoming oasis that greets you as soon as you enter the door. The food was super flavorful and easily tops other indian restaurants in the area. Their wide selection already had me going back to try other dishes, and I am salivating just thinking of their food while writing this review. I will most definitely be back.

You kind of know what to expect but then you are pleasantly surprised when it’s better than you imagined. The dining area was filled with laughter, homey vibes, and delicious aromas. My husband is a very picky eater and warned me before we entered that he’d be a pain in the a$$ if we didn’t enjoy our food here but he was blown out of the water by the entire experience — he even wrote a positive review to share in the joy this food brought him. It was small gestures like a chopped lime in my diet soda that made all the difference in our experience. We had a few different staff attend our table which really lended to us having a great dinner. There was a friendly waitress who recommended kulfi for dessert and said it was made in house; highly recommended trying it if you like ice cream. It’s a little sweeter. My husband had chicken tikka masala, rice, garlic naan, and I tried the goat masala. Dessert was the pistachio and mango kulfi. Next time I’d love to try their vegetarian options.

Love it here! This was my second time and everything was just as great as I remembered it. We ordered the Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala (both come with rice), Butter Garlic Naan, Vegetable Samosas, and Lassuni Gobi. Large portion sizes, so you don’t leave hungry! The food is fantastic and the staff is very nice. The atmosphere is very comfortable. I happily drive 30 minutes to come here and would absolutely recommend you do as well!

Amazing fast service and the food was delicious. It was my mom’s birthday and they gave a surprise chocolate pastry for dessert which was super delicious. Highly recommend and sandrol gave us a great service.

This has to be one of the greatest indian restaurants in all of New Jersey! The food was authentic and delicious. The service was great, and the atmosphere was also nice but not too busy. They have lots of vegan and vegetarian options. They are also nut friendly. Everything tasted fantastic, but the highlight of the meal was the vegetable kohlapuri, and it was arguably the best in Jersey. Other dishes I would recommend are the pind te chole and the aloo gobi matar.

The food is absolutely incredible! I’ve had half the menu and never had anything I didn’t love. The butter chicken is always amazing, but my favorite is the carrot pudding dessert. Gajiar halwa. It’s better than carrot cake, and carrot cake is me favorite dessert.

I would have taken photos but we it all too fast and by the time I thought to leave the review it was time to go. What a wonderful experience. Malcom was very doting and attentive. Our orders came out perfect and sizzling hot. We're not Indian food experts but MAN everything we had was phenomenal! They asked if we wanted mild or spicy which was very convenient since heat and I aren't friends. We had chicken 65, another appetizer whose name I forgot, mango shrimp and the chicken biryani (which is like the Indian equivalent to fried rice). We also ended with a hot chai, custard ice cream and a cheese in creamy sauce dessert that knocked my socks off. Exotic. Fresh. Magical.

Tried this place tonight after many recommendations and it did NOT disappoint!! We got tandoori chicken, paneer palak, butter chicken, vegetable biryani and garlic butter naan. Everything was absolutely delicious!! The size of the portions was on the smaller size considering the prices (only 3 small pieces of tandoori chicken for $22, a handful of pieces of chicken in the butter chicken but a ton of sauce for $21). Both came with a small side of white rice. I do think we'll order again since there aren't any good Indian restaurants around here and the food was delicious. It'll definitely be a treat night tho!

We are really lucky this opened in Keyport! The food is top notch whether I’ve dined in or ordered through Door Dash. The menu has all the staples you’d expect but they’re just done so much better. The tandoori mix is a can’t miss. Portions are great and prices are fair. Perfect place for a quiet night close to home.
