Sheetal deserves the first and biggest shoutout. She’s not just helpful, she is the kind of person who becomes the face of a restaurant. Even though she joined only about a month ago, she carries herself like someone who’s been running the floor for years. She’s constantly scanning the room, checking in at the right moments, making sure guests are taken care of, and keeping everything flowing smoothly, which is hard in a buffet setting. What stood out most was her customer service and knowledge. She didn’t just take requests, she understood them. I can’t have gluten, and she immediately knew what would work and what wouldn’t, then offered a great alternative and executed it quickly. She also placed my order for uttapam instead of rotis without me having to chase anyone down. On top of that, she was proactive the entire time, clearing plates, checking if I needed anything, and making sure the experience felt easy and comfortable. That level of attentiveness is rare. I also had feedback about the veg dum biryani, and it was handled immediately. It was quickly replaced, taken seriously, and resolved without any attitude. We also tried the burrata chicken tikka masala and the adraki chicken curry, and the kids loved the adraki one. Huge shoutout to our server, Sheetal; service was A1 from start to finish. We’ll be back.

Personally I liked the food, I just didn't love it. We were there for lunch, got the buffet but it was our first time and we were seated and then left to ourselves. No explanations or anything, which is fine, we figured it out and they were busy. But worth mentioning. The food was good. At the risk of being boring, the butter chicken was delicious but the rest wasn't really for me. We weren't offered drinks beyond what was available on the buffet (unsweetened chai & some sort of mixed fruit juice) and the warm water on the table. So I'm glad we went, but I've been spoiled by other Indian restaurants so it wasn't an immediate love for me.

The menu was impressive, the aromas from the kitchen were enticing. Our waiter was phenomenal!! He made suggestions that were amazing. The layers of flavor in every dish blew all three of us away!! Best Butter Chicken I’ve ever tasted!! The Lamb Chop appetizer - I cannot begin to do it justice - phenomenal Benton’s words!! Biriyani is a huge portion that needs nothing but deliciousness!! If we lived closer, I’d be eating here all the time!! If you can’t tell, this meal exceeded All expectations - Highly recommend!! This a culinary explosion of flavor!!

Came for the lunch buffet; stayed for the hospitality. The spread here is less all-you-can-eat and more dare-you-to-eat-it-all—the variety of veg and non-veg sides is actually intimidating. Every single dish tastes genuinely authentic, and the naan is dangerously warm and fluffy. A massive shoutout to Sheetal. She was incredibly friendly and actually helpful, rather than just hovering. I’m bringing my friends next time.

The Absolute Gold Standard for Buffets in DFW If you think you’ve seen everything the DFW Indian food scene has to offer, Bombay Republic will prove you wrong. I have never encountered a buffet this rich, diverse, and high-quality. Most buffets sacrifice flavor for volume, but every single dish here—from the vibrant vegetables to the deeply spiced meats—was a masterpiece of color and taste. What truly blew me away was the service. Even though we were eating from the buffet, the staff treated us with the attentiveness of an upscale à la carte experience. It felt like a Five-Star dining event from start to finish. If you’re in Richardson, do yourself a favor and eat here immediately.

We went on a Friday night and the place was not too packed. We got seated after only about 5-6 minutes of waiting time. There were a lot of good options on the menu. Plus they have a bar too. The food came out fast and they were really good and tasty! But the server forgot my husband’s drink (Coke) and gave us a plate of chicken dish we did not order. The server realized his mistake when we mentioned it and he rectified it immediately. The ambiance was nice, however the utensils could use an upgrade (i.e., for the image of the place they wanna project, they need to buy better utensils not the cheap kind). Overall, I’d recommend this place.

This is a nice spot for some Indian buffet. We went there for a weekday lunch buffet. Service was professional. Food was great but I just wished for the $20 they were charging, the options could’ve been more and the items were refilled sooner. I couldn’t try a few items because they didn’t fill them on time and there was a bit of waiting. Other than that, it’s a nice place. Ambience was great with nice seating and tons of natural light coming through.

Best Indian buffet in DFW and it’s not particularly close. I’ve had Indian food in India; restaurants, family cooked meals, wedding catering. Been to Michelin star Indian restaurants. Eaten at a lot of good places in London. The biggest problem with buffets are that it’s bland. This place not only gives you a great selection of food but the flavors are pretty good. The Biryani isn’t the best but when you take everything in consideration, It’s solid. I’ve eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants in DFW. This is my current favorite lunch buffet.

This place is truly a gift to Richardson, and the greater Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex! I have spoken with the head chef numerous times; a young man who is already a master of the Indian culinary arts. If you have not been here to taste the food, then I have one simple question: Why? The ambiance is as delightful and incredible as is the food. The owners have an amazing story of intrapreneurship and the entire staff is hardworking and very friendly. THANK YOU, SHATEEL, FOR EVERYTHING!!! 2/20/26: I've been back a couple times since my previous review. One time was definitely back to 5-stars... the other time back to a disappointing meal. I guess the main difference is whether the owner is there. The owner even asked me to leave a truthful Google review as I was paying. I didn't disclose I had previously written one. I knew it was the owner because he had previously brought out Naan and an individual serving of Butter Chicken on one occasion. On that particular day, he recognized I had been totally forgotten and the chef couldnt keep up with food. Trays were completely empty for over 30mins. Tables kept going up and returning with empty plates. I think one of the chefs was supposedly out sick. This is when they first opened. Regardless, on the return day I would rate as 5-stars... I went around noon when the restaurant had a good lunch crowd. Food was hot and replenished. Missing were those two awful dishes I mentioned previously. Service was very attentive. Great experience. A month later, I went around 1pm. Owner was not visibly there during my meal. Things weren't up to par... empty and cold. Ill keep trying. When they're on, it's a great meal. Original Review: I have eaten here a dozen times. It was my favorite Indian buffet in DFW when it first opened. I remember chatting with the very first manager (female with very short hair) about how to improve the buffet. I told her the layout was too cramped and they needed smaller plates (so people wouldn't over-fill their plate). Food was absolutely amazing! The service has never been great during lunch though. I've had a different server every single time I've gone. The majority of them have never waited tables in their lifetime. Only one guy was good... and he dressed professionally. I've been forgotten several times... no naan brought out... no ice brought out when requested... basic server mistake issues. HOWEVER, the food has always been amazing to very good. Over time, food quality began to decline. Today was possibly my last visit. Everything was either cold... old... or really bad. I hate to use the word disgusting, but it really was. I couldn't even finish my meal because I started feeling queasy. So I paid the bill and left. Sure enough, I barely made my 30min drive home before experiencing stomach issues. So sad. They have an interesting menu compared to other Indian restaurants, but today... absolutely terrible. The corn/cauliflower appetizer was gross. It used to be good! The Chili Chicken was even worse... that tasted like a Lean Cuisine frozen sweet and sour chicken dinner. Did the chef or recipe change? The Tandoori Chicken looked like it was a couple days old. All the vegetarian options were below room temp. I doubt any of the staff today have food safety certification. Im pretty sure ownership has changed. Its just not the same. The sanitation issues is enough to worry me. Food at incorrect temps... serveware covered in old food at room temp... and don't get me started on the tap water served in a communal bottle where hands have been all over the cork. I know the waitstaff is not clearing/washing/sanitizing after each use. I watched them! I am now fighting stomach issues. Sad way to feel after spending $26 for what I thought would be a good meal. $22 plus tip. Not worth it. One star for sure... but extra star for all the earlier enjoyable meals. I hope the current owner takes this feedback seriously. This restaurant USED to be amazing.

?????????? Bombay Republic Indian Kitchen in Plano was phenomenal. I had the Hyderabadi lamb masala, the owner Kartik recommended & paired it with the chicken dum biryani; absolutely scrumptious. We also tried the burrata chicken tikka masala and the adraki chicken curry, and the kids loved the adraki one. Huge shoutout to our server, Sheetal; service was A1 from start to finish. We’ll be back.

If you want to end your week with relaxing atmosphere with good food and drinks then it could be your go to place.

Amazing place to eat! There was Bollywood live music the entire time we were there and it was so lively. The ambiance is formal the food is incredibly fresh. In the tomato soup we could see the cardamom freshly added. Wonderful with multiple vegetarian options as well!

I visited Saturday night so it was pretty packed. We were unable to get cocktails because they were busy and unable to make cocktails or mocktails but I got draft blue moon instead. For an appetizer I got the chili paneer bao. It was very good. For dinner I had the chicken curry, rice, and garlic naan (bread), and my date had the mutton seekh kebab. The curry was very good and spicy and the kebab was good as well, I really enjoyed the sauce with it. This is a must try place if you’ve never been and worth the wait. The staff were very friendly as well.

I have visited on last Sunday with my Friends. Talking about food they are not having a much options in buffet and food was not worth for 25$. Biryani was like fried rice with vegetables. When you go they deliver naan on your table. We had to ask 4 times for that. Its not even worth it for one time.

Some items on the buffet were a hit, the briyani and gulab jamun were not. Got there right at 11AM for a weekday lunch, and had to wait as they were not quite ready. Only got the Naan right when midway through my 2nd serving. Naan was very good. Why the 3-star rating? IMO curry recipes are easy to replicate. Getting rice perfect every time shouldn't be a challenge but is often where weakness in a kitchen shows up. While I enjoy a good buffet every once in a while, I would rather dine somewhere I can reliably get a good plate of briyani.

Fantastic food. I love bringing visitors out of town to Bombay Republic. Never fails to disappoint! Absolutely must try the Gongura Green Chili Chicken and Passionfruit Pani Puri. Staff is always a joy to speak to and happy to help/provide recommendations. They never hesitate to answer questions and help out. Service is prompt and it never feels like you have to wait long for things. Can’t wait to keep coming back in the near future!

Food was great; portions were very large and generous and came with a variety of dips and sauces for us to add and customize. Service was very helpful and attentive. They gave us a good drink recommendation and responded to all of our needs very quickly.

This was my first visit, and I arrived during lunch where they were offering a buffet. The options were varied and they catered to all diets with a wide range of veg/non-veg dishes. I tried them all and they were delicious and well executed. For dessert, the kheer was the best I've had, but the Mango Delight stole the show. It was perfectly creamy, fruity, with chunks of mango, it was akin to a mango lassin. I'd suggest the restaurant if you're in the area.

Afterward, the server immediately changed the tandoori chicken after taking the feedback. It was super polite. I definitely recommend that you should come here.

The food was delicious with so many things to choose from for the lunch buffet. That's not the reason why I'm writing this review, though. I was kind of shocked by the waitress's behavior. My coworker (white) asked for a certain kind of drink, only to be told there was none. Yet, later, when my Indian coworker ordered the same drink, he got it. At the end of the meal, I asked for my receipt and she just never brought it. I'm also white. Lest you think I'm inventing a persecution sob-story, I didn't even think about it through that lens until my Indian coworker pointed it out. Great food, but way too expensive, and at that price you expect good service, too.

The vibe was nice very calm we went at 10 pm. Not overcrowded and the music was nice pop and R&B soul guitar instrumentals. We had drinks that were perfectly balanced and cigar samosas they paired perfectly. Everyone was kind!

Wow, we’re so excited with this fine. Beautiful buffet with so many choices and each dish is delicious. When talking to one of the owners we found out that they do not make things in bulk but makes things individually so everything is so fresh. The mango pudding was better than any I’ve ever had would love the nun And all the other dishes. What a treat . I really encourage you guys to try this.

We were here on a Sunday evening. The ambiance is nice and the seating was uncluttered. The wait staff was polite and efficient. The menu has both quick bites and the traditional Indian menu items. We had the samosa chaat, bao sliders and Hakka noodles. Everything was delicious and well portioned. Drinks were well made too. Overall a pleasant experience.

I went there for one of my Friend's farewell dinner. The place was nice and there is no charge for larger groups as compared to other Indian restaurants. The food was up to the mark and the service and staff were very nice and caring. I recommend it to at least try once and I am sure you will love it.
