My daughter Tanvi has been Anshuji’s student for 6 years now. It is heartening to see how far Tanvi has come along on her musical journey with the help of Anshuji. Her interest and passion for Hindustani Shastriya Sangeet has grown over these years thanks to Anshuji. Apart from being a dedicated music educator, Anshuji comes across as a genuine human being who loves all her students. We as a family will be ever grateful to her for her guidance and valuable coaching in Tanvi’s music education.

Swar Lahiri is a fantastic school for Hindustani Classical training. The teacher, Anshu Saran, is patient, kind, wonderful with kids of all ages and is extremely dedicated to her music. Any student is lucky to be part of this school.

I enrolled my 5 years daughter to this school for Hindustani vocals with teacher Anshu. We liked the teaching methodology that miss Anshu follows where kids can understand the concepts easily and practice. Patience, keeping the student engaged and interested throughout the class, motivating at the right time and pursuing student to practice more and more are some traits that miss Anshuji displayed during the classes. Though it was online class, Anshuji did fab job of imparting the knowledge and enhancing the learning with available resources. I learnt that they have started in-person classes. We know Miss Anshu for several years. My daughter learns singing from her since she was 5 and i am so grateful to Miss. Anshu for teaching hindustani singing. Her dedication and commitment to the art of music is commendable. She emphasises on regular riyaaz/practice that has helped immensely to my daughter. I have been learning Hindustani Classical singing with Swarlahari for about 10 years now, and I wouldn’t trade the experience thus far for the world. Music has come to be a respite for me from all the stresses of life. Not only that, but my focus, determination, and dedication have definitely improved due to the constant practice and hard work required. Anshu Saran is so incredibly patient with all her students, and she really goes above and beyond to ensure we succeed. She also pushes us to do our best, exemplified through the certification exams all her students excel at. Overall, my music growth has been exceptional under her tutelage, and I would highly recommend her to anyone interested in Hindustani Classical singing.

My Children (14 years and 10 years old) have been learning Hindustani Music under Anshuji since 2022. Anshuji has focused on teaching the ragas as well as providing her students with a more intricate understanding of the nuances of this musical tradition. One of the most rewarding aspects of the class was to witness my children's growth in skills and confidence as musicians. She has created a platform with performance opportunities for the kids to showcase their learning. Another aspect of Anshuji as a teacher that has stood out is her ability to enforce accountability among the kids. She expects the kids to practice at home and provide her with recordings mid-week; she is prompt in giving constructive feedback on those homework assignments. This approach has instilled both disciple and accelerated the development of my kids' singing skills. I would strongly recommend her as a teacher to guide you through a journey of learning Hindustani Music.

Anshuji is an ocean of knowledge when it comes to Hindustani classical singing/music. My daughter has been learning from her from past 9 years. Whenever she does her practice at home it feels so peaceful as if I am sitting in a temple.

What a coincidence that I should be writing this review just as Navaratri approaches. The first songs I listened to while Anshu ji was teaching her students at her school was 'Sudhamayi' and 'Devi Bajo, Durga Bhavani'. That's when I knew I found a good teacher for my children. Anshu ji is very patient with her students and offers positive constructive criticism on the side. She encourages parents also to devote their time to their children while they perform Sangeet Riyaaz at home. She helps prepare for the Hindustani Classical music exams in advance which is a big plus. Big thanks to Mukul ji, her husband who supports the running of Swarlahari School of Music and music recitals.
