About Tamil Jersey School

Tamil Jersey School (TJS) is a nonprofit educational institution established during the 2016–2017 academic year by a group of dedicated volunteers in Jersey City, New Jersey. Affiliated with the American Tamil Academy, TJS aims to impart Tamil language and cultural education to the next generation. The school offers structured language instruction across various levels, from Mun Mazhalai (age 4) to Nilai 8, adhering to age-specific guidelines. In addition to language classes, TJS emphasizes holistic development through extracurricular activities such as Abacus, Chess, and cultural programs including dance, drama, singing, and essay competitions. Operated entirely by community volunteers, the school fosters an inclusive environment, welcoming students of all backgrounds.
