About The University Of Maryland, Baltimore
UMB is Maryland's only public health, law, and human services university. Six professional schools and a Graduate School confer the majority of health care, human services, and law professional degrees in Maryland each year. The Indian Association at the University of Maryland, Baltimore is a community group of students and scholars at UMB. We strive to establish, promote and maintain awareness of the cultures of the Indian subcontinent, and facilitate the integration of students from the Indian subcontinent into the campus community. Our primary mission is to showcase the Indian culture as well as to help new students and employees at UMB with roommates, accommodations, and settling down in Baltimore. UMB has a diverse cultural background (Indian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Nepali, Srilankan). The Indian Association provides a common platform to bring all these ethnicities together, and to provide a feeling of community even when we are so far away from our own countries.
