Rated 5.0 Enjoyed our dinner here. Everything was delicious.

Rated 3.0 I cam tell not enough care went into food preparation, I personally prefer the skins of chickpeas to be removed as it causes tummy issues. Other than that great flavor and ambiance in downtown Santa Rosa.

Rated 5.0 I worried a bit that Torch of India seemed quiet and unpopulated compared to neighboring restaurants and bars. I needn't have worried. I'm by no means a large man, but the dishes at this place turned me into a glutton. I'm almost embarrassed to admit how perfect everything seemed. We started with the potato and peas somasas, and would probably have left happy after just those. But then we moved on to the chicken tikka marsala and the vegetarian muttar paneer with the garlic naan. We couldn't make it all the way through, despite our efforts and best wishes. The food made me wish I had a spare stomach. I didn't want to have to stop putting more in my mouth. If this food were any more addictive, the feds would have to get involved. Years ago Thai food displaced Indian in my heart. I do believe Torch of India has won it back.

Rated 3.0 We went here because of their vegan options, and while the food was okay, the service was fairly slow. I was here with a party on a weeknight and the restaurant was pretty empty. In fact, I saw servers loitering about, but they didn't come to check if we needed anything. I was a little confused by their pricing too -- for example, my husband and I both ordered different vegan rice dishes (one was a side for a few dollars, the other an entree priced as such), but there was very little difference between the two. The ingredients seemed to be mostly the same, and the size of the dish was the same. We also ordered a soup for just a few dollars, which was arguably the best item we had all night. Our meat eating companions seemed quite satisfied with their meals, but my husband and I felt something was lacking in the food and service. Not bad -- just okay.
