Best Moving company really is the BEST!! My sister and I were downsizing our mother’s assisted living apartment and moving large pieces of furniture, some artwork, hanging television, and some very heavy boxes into storage. We had arrangements made for a Saturday move with another company, which fell through last minute. We called CP left a message, and he returned our call immediately. He and his 2 man crew met us on a Sunday morning at 9 AM with a day and a half notice, and did a great job. They wrapped everything to protect it from dust and scratches. They were extremely polite and just really nice guys. They were done so quickly we were off to the storage unit where they unloaded everything put it exactly where I asked so I could access the boxes. It all went off without a hitch. The price we were quoted was the price we paid. I would highly recommend them to anyone Moving, and I’ll be calling them myself again! We used Universal Relocations to move our household goods from India to the United States. They were very efficient and professional in their service. The office team in India prepared the paperwork in detail and sent the ground crew to pack the items on the scheduled day. The ground crew came on time, worked quickly and efficiently, bringing in very good packaging materials and cataloged them precisely. The office staff both, in India and the US were in touch with us with constant updates. It was a smooth passage through Customs at the sea port. The goods arrived at our doorstep in a truck. The ground crew worked quickly and efficiently, unpacking, putting the items in place. They put together items that were dismantled for easy transportation, and cleared all the packaging material, leaving the house, neat and clean. The entire transfer of goods was done within the time frame. We are extremely pleased with Universal Relocations and highly recommend using them.

Short story - Legit company, Real People, No hidden charges/agenda, Mostly on time, Truly door to door so no stress or hassles, Good experience. Long story - I had spoken to over 6 companies and Universal Relocations offered the best deal for me. I had shipped 19 boxes that included two TVs from Michigan, USA to Chennai, India. I engaged with them 3 months prior to the actual shipping date and started asking other companies for quotes. I was a bit surprised that their quote was lower than all other companies. Jyothsna was extremely patient in answering all my questions. I think I paid initial deposit and signed the estimate. While signing the estimate they said they could pickup my boxes any time I wanted them to. However, Jyothsna called me up on Novermber 4th and said their pickup team is scheduled to come to Michigan for a different pickup on Novemeber 6th so that is when they will come to pickup mine. I only had two days time pack which was a stretch but I managed to. They could improve on this or at least inform us earlier. I had requested packing service from them since I wanted all risk insurance for my goods. The pickup team is a couple guys and a huge truck. They arrived on time with their own boxes, packing tapes and dollys and they took just 2 hours to pack all 19 boxes. They made sure my TVs worked before they put it in their boxes. I requested them to crate one of the TVs since it was expensive. After a few days I received the final bill and it wasn't too far off from the estimate. The shipment left on 16th of November I think and although they said I could track it, the tracking website didn't really work at least in my case. I received an email saying the ship would arrive at port (Chennai) on Jan 5 and that I needed to sign customs documents, send passport copies via mail. The shipment arrived on Jan 5 at the port. Jan 19th I was asked to come to the port with my passport. Mr. Pazhani and Ashok were there to guide me through customs clearance. I saw my TV in the wooden crate, good. Customs clearance is basically a customs officer going opening all your boxes and checking the items, levying duty on them. You would know the amount there itself. The next day I received an email with the payment which is (customs duty + bank DD charge). DD is how Universal would pay the port to clear the shipment. The charge was Rs. 695 for me. Btw, you may need to tip the porters that work at the port so have some cash in your wallet. This is totally up to you and Universal has nothing to do with this. These porters work for Chennai port and on my way out they asked me if I could help them so I gave them some money. One more thing I noticed at the port was that shipments by other companies there were palletized pretty lousy. Mine was wrapped around with a black tape keeping everything intact as shown in pic. I was glad that I chose Universal because this shows that they actually care to a certain degree. From the port it reached Universal's warehouse on Jan 25. Then I had to pay port charges, around Rs.2500. Again, this is something Universal would in turn pay the port so it is transparent. Then Mr. Rajan called saying they would deliver the goods on Jan 27 which they did. All of the shipments arrived in excellent shape. No damages at all. A team of 4 people dropped the boxes at my place. Since I had asked for all risk insurnace, they had opened all of the boxes and had me inspect for damages. They even turned on the TV. it worked. So overall I think they provided great service, answered all of my questions, were on time for the most part and did what they said. I would highly recommend them.

I shipped my goods from US to Chennai, India. First I would tell the good part. delivery at Chennai was very smooth except for arranging the delivery. Shipment was in good condition except for 2 broken picture frames and a handicraft. Pick up process and handling of the luggage in USA was very bad, fedex picked up and threw the packages into the truck. On top of that the packing were redone and charged me for that.

Universal Relocation works well for small packages delivery from US to India (Carton boxes) based on my experience, I haven't tried for a large shipments through them from US to India. Only issue I had is that they gave a timeline of 60 - 90 days for the door to door delivery from US to India but in reality it took more than 120+ days for the shipment to reach my home. Customer support was very responsive for any queries but they had no control on the timely delivery. I had to follow-up multiple times with them to get delivery status. Finally I received my shipment boxes without any damages after 120+ days. I would have given 4 or more star if the shipment was delivered under 90 days as they quoted during initial enquiry.

I moved my items from US to Hyderabad. The US side of things are better and the staff was helpful to accommodate picking 5 boxes and a TV within a day to their warehouse. It took 3 months to ship the Items from their warehouse to California port for shipping. The Updates were regular over email till items reached my home. After 5 months of wait (May to Oct), items finally arrived with torn boxes. ( I was told its because of Customs check). No items were lost in the process. Overall Good experience. I recommend to use the service if time is not a constraint for delivery and use their box packing for any delicate items. ( My 49 inch TV came perfectly packed in a wooden box with no damage). 3 stars is for the time it took for items to reach my home

Happy - Disappointed/Stressed - HAPPY This is the long review but please make sure you read it as I have given all the pros and cons of the service. How Happy turned into Disappointment I used thier service to get the custom dining table which was 9 ft by 4ft big. The priya from Chennai offcie hleped to get good estimate and with all my questions. It took while for finalizing all the things as the contract which we need to sign before the shiopment hand over was little confusing with lot of unclear clause. Priya helped me to understand take out unneccesary clauses out. The real issue started when the order came to NJ. The contract I had signed was supposed to be for door to door service from Mumbai to Long Island NY. The person from NJ office was kept comaplaining that the order is ver heavy and I need to pay $750 extra to recive the door service. That person said its so heavy they need to hire another service and all. I kept in touch with Priya and she was able to convince the NJ office maanger to ship my stuff. Finally my stuff came up to my doors and see who delivered the stuff UNIVERSAL RELOCATIONS truck. Guys who came to drop the stuff off didnt complain aboout the weight of the shipment or anythings. My guess this manager from NJ office was just trying get extra money from me as they know we dont have any optiuion but pay to get the stuff we got from India. But Priya was so helpful in this whole process. If you are using the service make sure the size and weight of your shipment is inside the contract and you communicate the weight and size in all emails. Thats what saved me $750.

Recently availed services to move from NJ to Bengaluru. Happy to report all the stuff reached, no significant loss. The sales and other teams were very communicative. Available most times to answer questions, revise quotes as we changed our mind (as it happens). Team in Chennai lacked in communication, or may be it did not live up to standards set by NJ team. When the stuff reached Chennai - there was some lack of clarity on when the stuff will reach our place. But once got to Bengaluru, it was promptly delivered. And all good. Overall satisfactory service.

It was a pleasure working with Universal Relocations Inc. They are professionals. I chose them based on the recommendation from a friend of mine who used them in the past. I took a 40 feet full load container from USA to India with door to door service. Every item shipped reached me without any issues except couple of glass wares due to minor issues with packing of those items. They were available to answer any questions any time. I would use them in the future also.

Overall service was good, I moved from NJ, usa to India. Packaging was good on my 65 inch TV , it arrived without damages. The packaging on glass/porcelain items was not good , they used paper for wrapping these items so some of them broke. They should use bubble wrap for fragile items

I used Universal Relocations to move my stuff from US- NJ to Kerala. I called them many times asking doubts but the staff in NJ were very polite and were so helpful. My stuff were picked up from NJ and was delivered to my place in Kerala. My only concern was that the consignment got delayed by few weeks. Otherwise it was all good and I would use their service again!

The US side of things are better and the staff was extremely helpful to accommodate the moving of 17 boxes within a day's time. The weekly updates were also fine till it came to Chennai. Once it landed in Chennai and till it came to ICD in Bangalore, it was a mess! The local Bangalore staff however were good again. Apart from incomplete info and missing updates for the last three weeks before the inspection, everything was good.

Delivery was done without damage and the handling was good. NO ISSUE WITH SHIPPING QUALITY. But would have given all stars if the transition time would have been done in lesser time.. expected time was 3 months but ended up getting it around 5 months and had to do multiple followup from my end..

Just wanted to share my experience with Universal Relocations if ur moving boxes from US to India. They charge around 100-120 per box of 50lb. More the boxes the per box value would be less.But you have to pay 1000 INR per box in India for port transfer and storing the boxes.This is not included and will not be informed when you request for a quote. It will take 60 to 120 days for ur parcel to reach.. Only send if u are really keen on using all those stuff..

BEFORE THE BOOKING: Good amount of information was provided to me which helped in packaging properly myself. AFTER SALES: Proper tracking is not available and it seemed like they forgot my package in one of the hubs while transferring. I had to follow up then they picked my package and then continuous follow up but proper online tracking is not available. TIME taken from USA to India: 4 months. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: I was informed at the time of sale that the quote was final but I was charged unloading charges and inspection charges from port which amounted to about 50 usd for 4 boxes. FINAL RECEIPT: Although the packaging was not very sturdy (cartons only) but still the items inside were intact. the items included crockery, sunglasses, glass frames etc.

Good Service by Universal Relocations. I shipped 6 boxes from USA to India. Their communication was good throughout despite minor delays. Although the customs department did some minor damage to my stuff but that is outside the scope of Universal Relocations. I would recommend Universal Relocations for moving stuff internationally.

I wanted to move from the US to India (Chennai). It took about 80 to 90 days to arrive at the Port in Chennai. Few days later, I was asked to submit few documents for port unloading and inspection process. 1 week later I was asked to come to a location near port and someone drove me to the container house where I waited for more than an hour for arrival of the officer, which is fine. To my surprise, the items I packed was super handled and not even a single damage to my boxes. The thing is, I packed all the boxes my self. The booking rep Venkat told me to buy 'heavy duty' boxes which is the best option to safe your items. He also gave me a good deal. I'd like to thank Jyotsnaa also whom I was in touch in the beginning for quotations and provided me a lot of options. Overall, the service is good. They charged me a little bit for port and detention charges which they could have discounted, but that's fine. I'm happy as my items arrived safely. Thanks team!

The overseas delivery is fast and smooth. I am impressed with the speed of international delivery from China to US. All my fragile stuff are intact. Just on the delivery day, the movers are a little impatient to unpack all my stuff and take away all the packing materials, which is supposedly included in the service package. I would say overall, it’s a satisfactory experience.

I used Universal relocation to move my boxes from Miami to Pune. Based on my experience below are pro's and Cons's Pro's 1. very professional and the staff is very good. they explain you in detail. My sales person Pallavi was very good. 2. I received all my boxes in as is condition without any breakage and not a single item was missing 3. received my box in exact 3.5 months as mentioned by UR. 4. They send you weekly updates and keep you on updated on each and every step. Con's 1. They charged me extra 7000Rs for 6 boxes as Port handling and Sensitization fees. i assume this might be some money they might have to pay at port to clear boxes or it my be genuine fees, but UR must tell upfront about this fee also they can include it as part of payment rather than asking for extra in India. Overall very good experience and would recommend.

I shipped total 7 boxes and TV from US to INDIA.The service was pretty good.The rates quoted were competitive. The team is very responsive and provided updates regularly. My packages reached Bangalore from Chennai after Customs clearance, but the Bangalore team was not so responsive in delivering my package. The final delivery was through Fedex (although I had a different issue with them, where they missed one of my box, and finally received after many follow-ups) . Other than that, It took approximately 3 months to receive my package with minor damages to my Kitchenware . Rating 4 stars because of delay and inconvenience caused by Bangalore Staff. Overall I am satisfied and I'd positively recommend Universal Relocations for shipping services from US to India.

Universal relocations helped me move things from US to Chennai. All the boxes reached safely and came as they were packed in the origin. The only drawback is it took close to 4 months even though they said it will take only 3 months

Thanks a lot for helping me out in relocating from US to India. All my things reached in perfect condition as packed by the recommended double walled boxes. The Wardrobe box which was not double walled had some minor dents. The delivery here in India took a hassle of a few hours, as they said it would be noon and delivered at 11 PM that night. But, overall I was happy to see the things intact. I have already recommended to a few of my friends.

I highly recommend this company! Ok, its going to be a long post, but I hope to help people who are going through what I went through. And please pay it forward :) I wanted to move my things in June 2016 from Philadelphia, USA to India - door to door. I had no electronics or furniture and was doing this move all on my own. SCARY! I went through several company websites, read several reviews(horror stories, some of them) and was one confused and extremely stressed out person. Moving on your own is expensive and no fun. It took me some to figure out that I did not qualify for FCL or LCL but 'excess baggage'. Spoke to several movers - ridiculous rates, incomplete information, was just not satisfied. Thankfully, I came across Universal Relocations. Guys, this is different from UniReLo. Some things that set them apart. 1. Excellent customer service - there was someone who I could talk to anytime, even weekends. I got all my questions answered, thank you to Balaji and Rishi Aravind. They were very patient and very straightforward. No hurry to rush and pay money, like some other companies I spoke to. Once my shipment reached India, the India office person (Shyamala) got in touch with me, confirmed my address etc. My shipment took about two and a half months. I was kept up to date regularly by email. I did not even need to use the tracking number they gave me to track my shipment, they were so good. 2. This is one of very few companies that does Excess Baggage Shipment WITH door to door service. Some companies have stopped it as it is not financially lucrative, also, there is also lot of harassment apparently, at India Customs. 3. MOST IMP - they have their own office in India. Please, please clarify this when you are booking with a moving company. i read and heard stories of people who shipped with companies who had a partner in India, not their own people. So once the shipment reached India, they absolved themselves of all responsibility, and the customer had a crazy time getting in touch with the third party, extra unexplained costs, etc. All in all, I moved six boxes - very, very reasonable price. I bought insurance from them too, I believe it is mandatory, gives you some peace of mind. They sent the shipping labels, forms by email - very simple process. Fedex came and picked up my boxes from my house, they were sent to NJ warehouse(I think it was NJ). The company put extra wrapping too. and then shipped to Chennai. They reached my house in Mumbai by road. I paid online. I had extra payment to be made Rs.1696 for misc charges incurred at customs - Customs looked through two boxes. Since I did not want to make my parents go to the Bank and transfer money etc, they agreed for Cash on Delivery! They did not hold up shipment or anything like that(yes other companies have done that). My shipment was intact - except for two broken glasses, which I suspect was broken as I labeled the Fragile box only after the Fedex guy picked it up and loaded it(threw it) onto the truck. I was going to be travelling in the US for 3 months, so it did not matter to me if the shipping took one week or 3 months. For those who have a time crunch, think of shipping by air instead. I am happy with Universal Relocations - it was a surprisingly very pleasant experience. Best part was the transparency and these guys know what they are doing and are very professional. I went through their website and trustpilot prior to booking, they personally reply to grievances and have overall very good reviews(yeah, sometimes things will go wrong, people will be unhappy). Would recommend them any day. I generally never write such long glowing reviews, but I am truly pleased with the whole process. Good luck with your move!

I used Universal Relocations to ship my puppy from Denver to Chennai. I must say, I had the most pleasant experience with Universal Relocations. I was anxious to bring my little puppy from the US, but Aboo and his team did such a fantastic job. They helped us with all our documentation, took care of customs and delivered my puppy safely. They knew the process very well and took care of everything for us from end to end. Very genuine, transparent, timely and open communication. I relocated from Dallas to India/Karnataka for good. It was altogether around 40 boxes including big TV and received them intact , there were some delays due to port clearance etc. It took close to four months to get them home. The status updates of movement of shipment was given regularly. Except for one or two glass items all other things were well packed. The staff were professional in US and packing and loading to truck took less than half a day. The customs process including courier of passport and tracking were seamlessly handled by staff at Chennai, the road transportation and door delivery took couple of weeks. Despite the small size of my requirement Universal was very willing to take on this task. From the beginning, I found their staff to be reasonable and flexible in the negotiations. Their packers showed up on time and did a super job of packing the furniture and their office staff followed through to shipment, status updates, delivery and reassembly of the furniture in LA. Even after my TV damaged, the insurance claim process was smooth and got all required support from team (Shipping, claim and customer service team members) from US and India. ========================================================== Initial Review: I will say never go with this relocation comp. Never go with this company. Very poor service, i got my boxes partially only 5 out of 7. TV was totally damaged even after taking special packing from them by paying $300. Now i have to go through headache of insurance claim and based on their commitment looks like i will be lucky if i get insurance.

For our move back from Hong Kong to NY, we contracted a local company in HK who then designated Universal Relocations responsible for receiving the shipment from US Customs and then delivering to our door. Once our things left HK, Universal Relocations reached out to us to provide us forms to complete so that they would be able to receive our things once they reached here. They provided weekly email updates about the ETA of the arrival and notified us of the process and procedure of the delivery. When our things cleared customs, we agreed on a time that worked for both parties and was provided a two-hour delivery window. Day of, they provided an confirmation of ETA to our home and arrived within the agreed time. We had over 60 boxes of stuff (approx 280 cu ft) and it took the two delivery guys around an hour to fully unload. They provided me with a checklist and I personally checked off each box as it was brought in. The boxes came fully intacted and was still in great shape, despite sitting in a storage unit for half a year and then shipped over from the other side of the world. While we still have not unboxed everything, we have found no damages on any of the already unboxed items. Overall, had a very satisfactory experience with this company. Everything from communication, to punctuality, to care gets full marks.

All went smoothly because they contacted me several times by e-mail and by a couple of phone calls before the truck showed up. The delivery showed up earlier than expected. This past week I moved a packed one bedroom apartment in New Jersey. The crew was on time and polite throughout the entire move. They thoroughly hand wrapped all of my belongings in quality material (kitchen wear + misc. items + furniture) and packed them tightly so they didnt shift in the boxes during the move. They boxed around the furniture and then wrapped it with padded blankets and made sure to handle with care at the pickup and delivery! The crew completed the move after a 12 hour day with a small break during the transport to my new apartment. There were no surprise charges and no damage to my belongings. I dealt with Universal Relocations for three (3) times. I had used them to ship all my household goods from the USA to India and from India to USA. Also used them domestically within USA. They are very professional and caring. I had always had great stratification and wonderful service. A special Thank You to Priya Kumar, Sales Director at the Chennai branch. She went above & beyond to help me with my needs when i got my stuff from USA to India in clearing the Customs and get it delivered. While shipping it back she also helped me in storing my things in the warehouse before shipping to USA as i had to find a place & settle. I would always go back to them if i need to ship anything internationally as i trust them and recommend them to my friends.

Overall the service is great right from getting the quote to getting all boxes delivered to my doorstep. I had so many questions about the shipment process, Geetha from Atlanta was so responsive and answered all my queries. I also had questions related to Customs clearance and Saravanan from Chennai office handled my order with due diligence. I had packed all my 19 boxes and all boxes reached destination without any damage to the items. The customs clearance in Chennai Port was so smooth and the team had taken care of each customer with at most care.

I worked with these guys for my move back from Boston to Chennai. Everything worked out so very well for us. I shipped 14 various sized boxes which I had packed myself. Their pricing was good and all the folks I spoke to were very professional. Everything arrived in good shape. Some cardboard boxes did take some beating from being moved around several times but all my things arrived safely. They were also very helpful in taking care of customs duty processing. I would definitely use them if I have to again. It took around 3 months for the entire move to get completed. I think they were waiting for the container to get filled up with more stuff because it took almost a month and a half for the ship itself to set sail with my stuff.

Was very satisfied with the service that Univeral location rendered in transporting our personal effects from Abu Dhabi, UAE to Charlotte, USA. I was informed on a weekly basis on the progress of the shipment and also finally informed of the date and time of delivery. And promptly the things were delivered as informed. We sought the services of Universal relocations for our move from Dallas (USA) to Pune(India). In Dallas, Satya was very responsive in answering questions we had around the process, cost and do’s/don’t. Our shipment was picked up from our home in Dallas and delivered to our home in Pune. When cleared thru customs, Sini from Universal did a great job coordinating the delivery in India.
