About Gitanjali Music Academy

Gitanjali Music academy is founded by Geetha Chundi. She is a professionally trained Carnatic Classical music teacher and Singer. She is Certified in Carnatic Classical Music from Potti Sriramulu University based at Hyderabad, India. She studied at a professional music school in India for over 7 years and has learned Carnatic Music for over 16 years from her childhood. Apart from Carnatic classical music, she also gives harmonium lessons and Kirtan / bhajan singing while playing harmonium simultaneously. Academically, she holds a masters degree in Computer Science from New Jersey Institue of Technology during which time she explored the scientific approach to music because of which she can correlate the scientific and the age old traditional way of Carnatic classical singing and present it to students in a very easy way for students to take full advantage and assimilate the essence of music. Her students have won prestigious awards including prizes in TFAS Diwali Vocal competitions, Saraswati awards conducted in NYC and TANA annual vocal competitions, to name a few. Many of them have participated in the world famous Cleveland Tyagaraja Aradhana festival as well. She has in depth knowledge about music theory and teaches kids to understand the underlying theory so they can appreciate music whole heatedly. She has several performances and accolades to her credit. She has a deep interest in teaching music and educating people about the divine art.
