About Guy L. Beck Asian Music Classes
I have studied Hindustani vocal music since 1976, beginning with six years in India at the Tansen Music College (Seniya Gharana). I have also learned from Sri Ashish Goswami, disciple of Late Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan (Patiala Gharana), Pandit Arun Bhaduri (Kirana Gharana) and presently from Pandit Vijay Kichlu (Agra Gharana), Founder/Director of the ITC Sangeet Research Academy in Calcutta. I am the first American to perform at an All-India Music Conference (1977). My other skills include the devotional music of the temples of Mathura and Vrindaban, and Bengali Kirtan. My current project is a large CD archive of Vaishnava temple songs recorded in north India.
