About Holman Pottery

Artist/Potter Tony Holman, his wife Debbie, and their daughter Maggie, own and operate Holman Pottery. Tony and Debbie opened Holman Pottery in 1989. In July 1998, the Holman's purchased an 1890 Victorian home (now commercial property) to house their studio and gallery. Tony is responsible for design, throwing, and decorating the pottery. He started his pottery skills in 1978 at Indiana University and fine-tuned them in 1980 at Bloomington Pottery. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Indiana University in 1982 and a Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of North Texas in 1986. Debbie handles the business and marketing operation. In addition, she helps with some steps of pottery production and design. She received two Bachelor of Business degrees from Texas A&M in 1985. Holman Pottery is sold and collected both nationally and internationally in specialty gift stores, museum stores, and galleries. We offer one night workshops for adults in pottery throwing. Each Adult will complete at least 3 projects on the potter's wheel. This class is appropriate for the beginner or the advanced student. We teach to your skill level. Free "cheap" wine and pretzels provided! We work with your schedule and ours so various times and dates are available. Please call for availability!

Rated 5.0 Stopped by here on a whim while doing the Plano history walking tour, he's super knowledgeable, his art is bad ass, and he's a cool dude to boot, can't go wrong, stop in and see for yourself!
