I received my doctorate in counseling from Washington State University and am also a Licensed Professional Counselor- Supervisor in Texas. Consequently, I can provide in-depth comprehensive personal and career counseling on the important issues affecting your life. Often, career and personal issues overlap. My qualifications and experience allow me to work holistically and provide action-oriented counseling. We all find ourselves in situations that test our strength and ability to cope with life. I have extensive experience and success in helping people in the following areas: stress, depression, grief and loss, relationships, self-esteem, career and jobs and just a general lack of direction and purpose. I feel particularly well qualified to work with individuals who are experiencing grief and loss in their lives. My wife and I traveled a terrible journey of our own, having lost our beloved daughter to cancer at age 14. Career counseling is one of my strongest specialties. We will explore your interests, values, skills, talents, strengths, abilities and personality. Career assessments are often used to provide us with further insight. Career exploration, resume writing, interview scripting and job search strategies are all components of my comprehensive approach. Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in counseling, psychology and career development and decision-making at the University of Houston- Clear Lake, Washington State University, San Jacinto College and Edison Community College have also allowed me to pursue my passion for teaching. I feel that my empathy, warmth, respect and ability to size up a person’s situation, as well as throw in a little humor for good measure, will help me to work productively with you to improve your life.
