About Malkauns Saiz North Indian Classical Vocalist
I have been a student of the late Ustad Ali Akbar Khan since 1996. I am the only professional vocalist to represent our gharana (Maihar gharan), which has up till now only produced instrumentalists. I have recorded and performed extensively with both of Khansahib's eldest sons Ustad Aashish Khan and Pandit Pranesh Khan, accompanied by Zakir Hussein. I have also recorded extensively with Shafqat Ali Khan and many other of India's finest artists. I was voted "Best New Artist" on International Televion by Univision and have major credits to my name including several Billboard credits as both Artist and Producer. I recieved a special blessing from Khansahib shortly before his death to be the only singer representing Maihar gharana.
