About Neeraja Aptikar

Neeraja learned North Indian classical and semi classical music under the able guidance of Pandit Shivajirao Bharati of Kirana gharana and Dr. Vikas Kashalkar, Head of Music Dept., Pune University, India. She also learned semi classical music such as dadra, thumri, hori, kajri and chaiti from Pune based well-known vocalist Jayashree Ranade. Neeraja has received several awards for classical, semi classical and light music such as Marathi Natya sangeet and composed Sanskrit stotrams and has performed at many venues and shows throughout India and Canada. She is working as a music teacher musician and collaborates with western musicians in Vancouver. She is teaching in Vancouver, BC from last 10 years. Language of instruction: English, Hindi and Marathi.
