About Northern Virginia Bengali Association

Northern Virginia Bengali Association (NVBA) has kept Bengalis in the Greater Washington DC area connected to their beloved Kolkata. NVBA operates as a charitable, non-profit organization. Its mission is to bring the spirit and ethos of Bengal to area expatriates. To this end, Poila Boishakh is celebrated each year with vigor and solemnity. NVBA sponsors bhog at the Washington Kali Temple in Burtonsville, MD on that day. Area residents contribute khichuri, labra, chatni, payesh, among other bhog items.
