In order to foster friendship among the Kannadigas in Atlanta area, Nrupathunga Kannada Koota was formed in 1973. It was registered as a tax-exempt, non-profit association in 1984. It has about 250 families as members. All the activities are conducted tries to promote the language and culture of Karnataka.
