Sangeet Parishad is a music school where Bangla/Indian art is taught. Though Singing is our main purpose, we do teach Tabla, Dance, Bangla, Violin, and Piano as well. Students of Sangeet Parishad who had also participated in other music schools similar to Sangeet Parishad had claimed that this was the most organized and the school with the best teachers yet.
We teach an eclectic variety of beautiful songs such as Rabindro Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, Polli Geeti, Adhunik, Folk Songs, and more. We also teach many different talas in Singing class and Ragas for Indian Classical Music. Though teachers choose what songs to teach, you can choose what song you want to learn in Private Classes and classes with two or more people, you can make suggestions. Since this is a democratic country, so is this school. Teachers will take a quick vote and if most students vote "yes" to the song, the song will be taught.
Students have many chances to perform in many functions some conducted by officials of Sangeet Parishad themselves or by other people of the Bangla/Indian community. Quality songs are taught in class to perform in chorus in the functions and the best singers/performers are given solo performances.
Sangeet Parishad conducted many functions throughout its life, but the most significant and important ones are the functions made every two years. Sangeet Parishad rents a school for functions so that every student of Sangeet Parishad has a chance to perform.
