About Sangeetayan
Sangeetayan is a school of music dedicated to the dissemination of Indian Music in the New England Area. It was founded by Sagarika Kanjilal in 1999. Sangeetayan brings together the deep understanding and appreciation of both Hindustani classical as well as traditional music. Students of all ages get the opportunity to learn with care, practice for perfection and perform with confidence through the painstaking training and guidance of their teacher, Sagarika. Sangeetayan presents programs in various events throughout the year, including fund raisings efforts for various worthy causes.Ms. KANJILAL specializes in the genres of thumri, tappa, Najrul Geeti, and devotional songs. Classes are offered in various areas of Hindustani vocal music and traditional songs such as: Khayal, Bhajans and Other Devotional Songs, Raga Pradhan, Harmonium etc.Lessons on tabla are offered in summer.
