About Saptak Indian Music School
Saptak is an Indian Music School based on Pittsburgh, PA where Hindustani classical vocal and tabla lessons are offered by Nidrita Mitra-Sinha and Asish Sinha. The mission of Saptak Music School is to promote and disseminate Indian music and its rich cultural heritage in the USA. Nidrita is an established performer of Indian Classical, Semiclassical, Rabindrasangeet, and modern music. She has performed in different cities in the USA including Washington DC, New Jersey, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and Cleveland. Nidrita started learning Hindustani classical music at the early age of 6 with great inspiration from her parents. Nidrita continues to learn Hindustani Classical music from Pta Tripti Mukherjee, a senior disciple of Pt. Jasrajji. She also learned Rabindra Sangeet from Smt. Banani Ghosh. She has published 3 CDs of Rabindrasangeet in the last few years.
