About Sweetpea Baking Company
Started in 2005, Sweetpea was Portland’s first all-vegan retail bakery. We started small and grew into opening our current retail space in 2008. We have expanded our menu to offer breakfast, daily homemade soups, sandwiches, bagels, and a full range of pastries and cakes. Saturday is always doughnut day. Every Monday is the Cronut day! Come sit in our spacious cafe and enjoy the atmosphere of a space dedicated to quality food and animal rights. Our focus is on making quality vegan baked goods that will rival any counterpart. We have set out to prove that no animals need to be harmed to make a delicious moist cake, a soft doughnut, or a flaky scone. We use many organic ingredients, as well as locally grown flour. Much of our seasonal produce and fruit is also sourced locally. We compost 80% of our waste and use compostable to-go packaging, cups, and utensils.

Rated 5.0 We hired Sweetpea for our wedding cake, and they were wonderful! Their wedding coordinator was very quick about getting us price estimates and answers to all of our questions, and very flexible about making changes when we changed our minds about cake vs cupcake, flavors, number of guests, and half a dozen other things! They were also really great about getting us a box of flavor samples on really short notice when we were planning from afar and only in Portland for a narrow window of time. They also now have gluten free options, which our GF guests loved!

Rated 5.0 Portland vegan fare at its finest! Lattes, cakes, cookies...so many savory sandwiches and specials! Everything here is vegan and super yummy! Fabulous food flavor and location. Next to several other good vegan shops and full of PNW culture. I keep coming back for more over the years its consistently super yummy vegan options in a cute corner of town. Five stars.

Rated 5.0 Cute little family-run bakery/cafe. All vegan breakfast, lunch, coffee, and you can order pies to pick up for special occasions. Delicious baked goods in the display case and friendly staff. Usually a crowd on the weekends, but the tables turn over quickly.
