The Architects Incorporated has been offering roof consulting services to our clients since 1985. Since that time, we have designed over 2 million square feet of roofs for our clients. Our roof design process begins with familiarizing ourselves with the history of your roof. Besides reviewing any existing drawings of the building, collecting history of leaks from the client, we, as you would expect, physically make a visual survey of the roof. We will walk the entire roof field area in 3 foot wide paths, taking field notes and photographs of all the perimeter edge and all roof penetration edge conditions. As part of the survey, we make physical roof test cuts to determine conditions of the roof membrane, the thickness of roof insulation, types of roofs, and to determine the number of roofs.
