About Amara

Amara is an Indian restaurant, located in Inman Park, is now serving traditional Indian restaurant in a modern industrial setting. Amara, a locally owned restaurant by Atlanta’s Sandeep Kothary of Tabla, is a pioneer of Indian-American restaurant in the heart of historic Inman Park. The dishes are reflective of new, modern American sensibilities folded in with the bold flavors of India. Always with an eye towards making his culture’s cuisine accessible to Atlanta diners, Amara is a unification of Kothary’s modern sensibilities and family tradition. The space is as bold as the favors with an industrial and modern take on design. Guests are greeted in a large vaulted entryway and drink at a glass-backed bar overlooking the dining room. Rated 5.0 I was walking by and smelled the curry, and turned around to look at the menu. It looked good so we tried it the next night.

Rated 5.0 This is by far the best Indian food in Atlanta. We were pining for our old Chicago Indian options for months and finally found the place that has it all and more. Cocktails are especially fine.

Rated 5.0 The appetizers of samosas were great and the main courses of Red snapper curry, Braised lamb, Lamb curry, I could go on... we had a party of 9 + 2 Babies and the service was seamless. I will be back..

Rated 5.0 Had to try Chef Bhavesh's take on Indian American cuisine. WOW! If you're a foodie, you have to try Amara Atlanta. The blend of spices play with your senses as the familiar western cuisine brings back fond memories of the Indian subcontinent. A must try! Pictured is the lamb chops.
