About Avvai Tamil Center

The ATS is a charitable, non-profit, and secular organization. The initiative commences in the North Dallas vicinity area, primarily to teach the Tamil language to children ranging from age five and above. ATS hopes to encourage an interest in Tamil language, literature, and culture while living in the United States through the initiative of teaching and learning Tamil language. In addition to weekly Tamil language classes, ATC also provides exposure to Tamil cultural activities. Teaching Tamil to students who mostly speak English requires a special format. The materials, teacher training, test format and overall guidance for the academic year is provided by ATA. A large number of schools in United States follow ATA syllabus making it easy for parents who might move around to different cities to continue their learning. ATA curriculum is developed to enable schools to get accredited by Higher Ed institutions in their respective state, which provides kids who get through necessary grades a state approved second language High School credit.
