About Azhagi Jewelry

Azhagi Jewelry was born in December of 2012. Designer and International Beading Teacher, Karen Bruns, traveled to Little Flock Children's Home in Kondamangalam, a small jungle village in southern India. Karen's mission was to teach a small group of women from neighboring villages the art of jewelry making. In their first year, the women learned wire wrapped loops for earrings, a few types of beadweaving and stringing. Now they focus their efforts on wire wrapped earrings; beadwoven pen covers, eyeglasses chains and earrings. The name Azhagi is Tamil meaning beautiful group. When applied to a group of women, the meaning becomes Beautiful Women.
