About BOTIWALLA
Botiwalla is chef Meherwan Irani’s homage to his life long love of kababs and Irani Cafes. In his hometown of Ahmednagar, India, his grandfather owned Sarosh Canteen, the only Irani Cafe in town. Irani Cafes were originally tea and kabab houses run by Parsis - Zoroastrians that emigrated from Persia to India in the late 19th and early 20th century (Meherwan’s great-grandfather Sheriar was one of those eponymous immigrants). With a strange and wonderful mash-up of Victorian decor and Indian sensibilities, they catered to the English colonialists’ love of high tea and afternoon snacks. Even after the British left India, Irani Cafes survived, adapting their menus to Indian tastes, serving a unique style of Indo-Persian (Parsi) cuisine and becoming some of the most iconic and revered dining institutions along the way.

Rated 5.0 Lamb burgers were so flavorful and delicious! Best ones I ever tasted!! Paired with the mango lassi is an explosion of flavor heaven in your mouth!!!

Rated 3.0 A different spin on Kati rolls. Made more for the general American palate. Still a nice and easy Indian option in poncey!

Rated 5.0 Great food ... great environment! I had the tamarind ribs. They were tender and oh so delicious! The staff were friendly, professional and courteous! I'm definitely going back very soon!! As for portion sizes, I was stuffed and this was my first meal for the day AFTER running 10 miles on tough trails earlier in the day!! I was famished but I left full and satified!

Rated 3.0 While the food was yummy, the portion to price ratio seemed a bit off. I felt hungry even after an appetizer (SPDP), entree (paneer tikka roll) and a drink -- around $20 for one person. Had to go over next door to the Cuban place to have more food!

Rated 4.0 Good place, good food. I think menu should have more items, Like grilled tandoori fish, shrimp etc. I ordered a lamb Kathi roll. Paid 11 for it and got only 1 piece of roll. I think portion size was less compared to the price I paid.
