Cincinnatus Savings and Loan began in 1885 as Cincinnatus Loan and Building Company in the back of a tavern at 805 West Liberty, as a mutual company where depositors could be shareholders. As was common, the company did business several evenings a week and on Saturday in the rear of a tavern. The early building and loans were commonly referred to as “bauvereins”, which means “building and association”. Cincinnatus Savings and Loan Company strives to serve its customers in a professional and courteous manner, to respond to our customer’s individual needs by developing and delivering quality, competitively priced financial products and services.
