About Delaware Tamil School

Delaware Tamil Palli (DTP) is a nonprofit educational institution established in 2006 under the Tamil Association of Greater Delaware Valley (TAGDV). The school is dedicated to preserving and promoting the Tamil language and culture among the Tamil diaspora in the Delaware Valley region. DTP offers structured Tamil language instruction for children aged 4 and above, encompassing levels from Thalir (pre-K) through Nilai 7, following the curriculum of the American Tamil Academy. Beyond language education, the school actively engages students in cultural activities such as music, dance, drama, and traditional games, fostering a deep connection to Tamil heritage. Annual events like the school day celebration, cultural competitions, and educational field trips are integral to the school's program, enhancing students' learning experiences. Operated entirely by parent volunteers, DTP emphasizes community involvement and cultural preservation, serving as a vital hub for Tamil heritage education in the region. Enrollment is open to members of TAGDV, with the school continuing to thrive through the collective efforts of its dedicated volunteers and the broader Tamil community.
