The discount will apply to all services received at this clinic, but not those services or equipment purchased from outside, including reference laboratory testing, drugs, x-ray interpretation by a consulting radiologist, and other such services. A sliding fee schedule is used to calculate the basic discount and is updated each year using the federal poverty guidelines. Once approved, the discount will be honored for a year, after which the patient must reapply. However, regardless of patient being approved or denied the discount, the patient is obligated to pay the nominal fees that would be informed to the patient by the provider at the end of the visit.
