One of the oldest temples in the southeastern USA, the Hindu Temple of Augusta was established in 1979. It is the religious and cultural center for over 500 families mostly of Indian descent. The Balashala program is destined to nurture the minds of our young children by teaching them the values of our religion and heritage.Sunday school is held during the school year to learn Hindu rituals, hyms, Sanskrit prayers and stories from our scriptures.
