ISKCON of Phoenix is a local branch of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), a global spiritual organization founded by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. The Phoenix temple serves as a center for spiritual education, worship, and community activities based on the teachings of the Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam The temple conducts regular aarti (worship ceremonies), bhajan/kirtans (devotional singing), and deity worship, primarily focused on their presiding Deities, SriSri Radha-Madhavahari. ISKCON of Phoenix celebrates major Vaishnav festivals such as Janmashtami (the appearance day of Lord Krishna), Ratha Yatra, and Gaura Purnima (the appearance day of Lord Chaitanya). Classes and discourses on scriptures like the Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam, are conducted daily by resident monks, initiated disciples and visiting scholars. ISKCON of Phoenix has programs aimed at community welfare, including prasadam (sanctified food) distribution, and other community services. ISKCON of Phoenix has special programs for children and youth to learn about Vedic culture and spirituality, as well as family-oriented activities to promote spiritual growth within the household. Cultural activities are also part of the children & youth curriculum, engaging them in traditional arts and crafts, music, dance, and drama as means of devotional expression and education.
