About Ker Fresh

Ker Fresh is a great Indian Market it has a great selection of hard to find items such as curry leaves, papad, and asafoetida!. The curry leaves come in a zip-lock, so it's difficult to say if that's safe. Their papad is gluten-free.

Rated 5.0 This market is fantastic, and the individuals who work here are always warm and kind. Great butcher in the back of the store. All the meat they have is halal, and the boneless lamb shanks and kid are fantastic, going great with marinades the owner's wife suggests. Been visiting here for 8 months or so- always great luck. Glad to see the store grow.

Rated 5.0 My first attempt to cook at Indian food and I needed a few spices. I was really pleased with Ker! I walked around twice just looking at spices, food, snacks! The selection is outstanding! I even picked up some fresh produce for my dinner. Not sure of her name, but the wonderful woman who helped me was fantastic. We talked about food and spices. I think it's easy to be overwhelmed in a market , but she made me feel comfortable and at ease in a sea of spices! Can't wait to return to Ker Fresh!,,

Rated 5.0 It's like the old Ker met the king of organization, and they had a baby. The baby sat down in the least obvious strip mall in all of existance, and Ker Fresh bloomed there, like a beautiful curry flower. Most everything that was awesome about Ker is awesome about Ker Fresh. And seeing as I died a little when the warehouse-sized Ker closed, that's a great thing. Sure, there are less fresh vegetables. And less frozen goods. And less weird kinds of pickles for me to try. But I think Ker Fresh kept all the essentials, some oddities, and became a leaner, meaner store. Of course, the people who work here are still super nice and helpful. But GRRRR, Ker Fresh you're born again hard.

Rated 4.0 Ker Fresh has everything you need for authentic Indian food. The spices, beans, rice, etc. are very fresh and have excellent prices. The variety of spice mixes is excellent for gringos like me (very fond of Shan brand). They also have a small but well-chosen section of beauty products; I'm totally in love with the Nyle herbal hair oil. The person running the shop was very helpful and explained the different spice mixes and vegetables to me. She seemed genuinely pleased to have me shop there (unlike my experiences at other ethnic groceries) All in all, this is an excellent specialty shop, conveniently located just off the 805 with plenty of parking. I you really want to make Indian food, this is the place to get your ingredients!

Rated 4.0 I totally invited the counter guy to come have Chicken 65 with Roger and I -- it's a south Indian dish. Turns out the guy was a vegetarian! Ker Fresh is a tiny convenience store-type Indian market. It's got some stuff you wouldn't find anywhere else, or perhaps you'd have to hunt for, like curry leaves, or a million different kinds of curry powder. Totally worth the effort to visit if you're in need of Indian cuisine ingredients. It's now my first stop. Great prices, pretty awesome service.

Rated 4.0 I was really glad to see Ker reopen since they used to be my "go-to" place for Indian ingredients on Black Mountain Road! Sorry to see they closed but better for me because it is now closer :) The poppadom, spices, chutneys, grains, paneer, etc is well worth the trip and reasonably priced! I found this on accident after missing my turn into Buga Korean BBQ it is right down the street next turn!!!!!! Too bad they no longer have that great vegetarian buffet with the bread guy with the beard so minus one star for that but otherwise I come here every time Go to Buga for stuff to take home because I love Indian food it takes me to a heavenly place within the deep crevices of my collective unconscious dream analysis world (*_*) like this you should try it

Rated 4.0 Like the GM of today, Ker Fresh is much smaller, leaner and meaner than the old bloated warehousy Ker Distributors (aka Ker Little India) which closed about three months ago. When old Ker lost the competition in the Black Mountain Rd jungle and left behind hyenas, the jungle folks were all lost. It turns out that Ker is now building a brand new kingdom in Clairmont, appropriately called "Ker FRESH." These are the real green shoots. I'm forever a citizen of its new kingdom.

Rated 4.0 So glad to have a place like this less than 10 minutes away! I needed fenugreek leaves and found that and much more. They have so many spices and things for reasonable prices (most in large quantities, more than I need). The guy working there helped me find things and was nice. I will have to come back to get meat and other stuff from them next time I try cooking anything adventurous.

Rated 5.0 Fantastic frozen garlic naan bread at a great price. Just using these packages of 15 instead of adding naan to our grubhub orders has lopped at least 12 bucks off each delivery. Wonderful owner. Easy location.

Rated 4.0 This place has a great selection of hard to find items such as curry leaves, papad, and asafoetida! I came here in search of celiac safe asafoetida. Unfortunately, all of their asafoetida has wheat. Their curry leaves come in a zip-lock, so it's difficult to say if that's safe. Their papad is gluten-free but has no allergy label on it. If you aren't gluten-free this could be a great find for your Indian spice needs!

Rated 5.0 Came here in search of Indian spices because I want to start making Indian dishes at home. Came here and they had EVERYTHING. Literally, any and every spice I was looking at ordering online, they had here in the store. They had various brands to choose from and there were also kits to make tikka masala as well as other well known dishes. I really didn't get a chance to look around more, but I think there might have been a restaurant in the back? Overall, the store was clean and the lady who rung me up was very nice. I was able to get my hands on a high volume of spices for a cheap price. Cheaper than what I would have paid to buy them online.
