We are a well-established language school in Atlanta that offers Spanish classes using Graded Reader Method. Our class size is between 2 - 6 students. We have been delivering solid results for past 13 years. Each course consists of 12 hours of classroom instruction. Class meets once a week for two hours for six weeks. You will acquire a vocabulary of between 400 to 500 words plus a good overall understanding of the structure of the Spanish language. You would need a vocabulary of between 1500 to 2000 words in order to be functional in the target language. You will see progress right from the very beginning. After attending our basic Spanish class, learning Spanish further would become a lot easier and enjoyable experience. In our basic Spanish class you will learn how to build 3 to 4 words sentences. In real conversations you will have to build 6 to 7 words sentences. You will get there once you go through the intermediate level Graded Readers. Each sentence that you read is an example of how a sentence should be built. Reading provides you an unlimited supply of these examples. The more you go through these examples, the better you will get at building your own sentences and thus speak. If you are a total beginner, we can teach you how to read in Spanish with comprehension in less than six months. Graded Readers are complete stories written for all level of language learners. We use the series Leer en Español, which is published by University of Salamanca, Spain. They are available in six levels. In our basic Spanish class we use the level 1 graded reader Soñar un Crimen. It is a 22 page story and is written with 400 commonly used words. Each word is used repeatedly in different context for improved retention.
