About Marks Education
Marks Education works with independent and parochial schools across the country as they seek to improve their college guidance services and selective admission results. Drawing on our leadership team’s decades of work in highly selective high schools and colleges, as well as our current, extensive U.S. and international network, we offer nuanced and tailored advice. We work closely with school administrators and faculty to assess the services they currently offer and to implement appropriate improvements. As needed, we also work with students and parents. Our services include reviewing curriculum to improve alignment with appropriate standardized testing, enhancing student support and school advocacy throughout the college application and admission process, and highlighting keys to post-matriculation retention and success, especially at highly competitive institutions. Nina Marks is also the Founder of the non-profit Collegiate Directions, Inc. (CDI). The CDI leadership team provides similar services to public and charter schools. Our counselors help families and students make the choices that will help them find and gain admission to the schools, colleges, and programs that will suit them best. We provide one-on-one admission counseling and educational advising, customized to suit the needs of each student and family. From a single hourly session to a year-long package, we work with our clients to make an effective, efficient plan for academic achievement. Marks Education’s counseling team includes former school and college admission officers, academic advisors, and college counselors, with decades of experience. Too many parents and students feel overwhelmed by the educational choices they face. We help families make the most of every educational opportunity. Nisha Sardella joined Marks Education in November 2009 and leads our graduate school admissions counseling. She works with candidates for law school, business school, medical school.

Rated 5.0 I have the highest regard for Marks Education SAT/ACT program, and specifically Dan Bloss. Each of my sons worked with Dan (two years apart) and each had fantastic success. My older son increased his ACT score by five points from his initial score. My younger son increased his ACT result by four points, receiving a perfect score (36). I attribute this to Dan's insightful guidance and patience. He explained how the test works, how the questions are asked, and what the nuances are to the solutions. Very importantly, Dan's careful prep enabled the boys to go into the test prepared and confident. The cost is simply an investment. The higher scores resulted in acceptance to much better schools, and in one son's case, a nearly full scholarship. I recommend Dan to everyone!

Rated 5.0 Dan tutored me for the SAT when I was a junior in high school, and when I decided to take the GMAT as a junior in college he was the first person I reached out to. Both times, I only had to take the test once, which speaks to how well prepared I was after working with him. I had a relatively high GMAT score to begin with, so gaining additional points was difficult and came down to getting a few tough questions right. Dan gave me sets of these types of questions and broke down the keys to solving each one. He turned every practice question that I missed into an opportunity to learn a better approach or an unfamiliar concept, which paid off when I recognized many of the types of questions on the test. Compared to doing large question sets on my own and making the same mistakes over and over again, I felt I was able to see more improvement in a shorter time frame thanks to his help. He was also able to seamlessly accommodate me via Skype, as I am away at school. I would highly recommend Dan Bloss and Marks Education for test prep; without his help I would not have achieved the score that I did, and those extra points will really improve my chances when I apply to business school.
