Rated 5.0 I had a wonderful experience with Mahendra's Surya Kriya class. In class and all my interactions with him, Mahendra has attentively given that personal touch which makes me feel well cared for. I remember most of what I learned and feel I have learned something helpful.

Rated 5.0 I was looking for a spiritually-based yoga instructor, and I was not disappointed. Beginners and experienced students will benefit from learning, practicing correct form, and aligning intention. I highly recommend for people on a spiritual journey, and as an added benefit, many improvements to health.

Rated 5.0 Along with 2 other friends, I took Mahendra's surya kriya class and to say it was an absolutely wonderful experience is an understatement. His style of teaching is clear and precise. He individualizes his teaching to each student in the class room and ensures that everyone is on the same page before continuing on further with the class. It is very clear that his training is authentic and from a reliable and pure source. It is quite evident within a few minutes, that the practices he teaches have withstood the test of time and modernization. He incorporates the utility of these practices and what they do for the human body as he teaches the postures, which makes the learner understand the importance behind these practices. I was in a class with people who were familiar with Isha Yoga and those were never exposed to it. He tailored his teachings so uniquely that everyone was on the same page. Having practiced yoga for a long time, I thought I knew basic fundamentals of yoga quite well. But, I couldn't have been more wrong. I felt like I took my first yoga class and all that I learned up to that point was merely a knock off version of the real deal he was teaching!

Rated 5.0 When I looked into his eyes and connected with him energetically in his class, I was struck by the pureness, calmness , tenderness and at the same time the powerfulness of Sukha's energy. Sukha has successfully embodied the teaching of his Guru and the spirit of the classical Hatha yoga, a school of yoga that maintains its purest form and its full spiritual dimension, a school of yoga you can't find in most yoga studios in United States, where yoga has been stripped of its spiritual dimension, original purpose and reduced to simply some physical excersice, because the whole human system, which includes physical dimension, psychological dimension, karmic dimension and energy dimension, has been understood as something equal to just the physical body. The teaching of Sukha has been conducted very professionally, scientifically and precisely, so you would remember the asanas after class and then you can simply practice at home, saving so much hectics and time in commuting between your home and the yoga place. After-class supporting system is also well in place, such as guided sessions on donation bases provided after class, and timely and warmly response to your questions regarding asanas and practices by Sukha. According to my personal experiences in Namarskaram Yoga, rather than saying that the yoga was taught to me, I would say that the yoga was transmitted to me, and that explains why I can remember most of the asanas after classes and can persist in practicing it everyday, which has never happened to me before. As a result of consistent practicing, both my health condition and mental clarity has been considerably improved, and even my resistance to life got reduced a bit. Before taking Sukha's class, as a novice to yoga, even though I had longed to learn yoga for a long time, I was just not motivated to keep going back to the yoga studios and to keep practicing, and I had simply attributed this to my lack of discipline and to my busy daily schedule. Rated 5.0 Mahendra is a very authentic teacher who makes sure you learn and understand yoga fundamentals. As a beginners yoga student, I was able to fully enjoy and appreciate the practice for what it really is, and not as just an exercise class as usually it's taught in the US. I highly recommend his class!

Rated 5.0 There comes a time in life when you’re close to giving up on a quest. And it could apply to any aspect of life. For me, one such moment was when I had tried almost every single yoga facility around me. Unfortunately my enthusiasm waned over time. None of the studios offered what I was thirsting for. The practices weren’t even remotely close to the pure pristine form of yoga I had been exposed to as a child. And to make it worse, no matter how many sessions I attended, I literally had to drag my feet and force myself to go back. My body hurt and the muscles were sore but there was no sense of well being. Disillusionment had set in. Frustration was at its peak. I was done. To find what I was looking for, I was contemplating taking a sabbatical and going back to the roots - to search the interiors of India where someone, somewhere, in the remote Himalayas would teach me to simply sit still and take it from there. No heated studios, no blaring music, no rapid movements where one is constantly trying to catch up with the rest. I was looking for something that would caress my eternal soul, not just the physical manifestation of my being. And that is when perhaps the heavens smiled at me, and lead me to NamaskaramYoga and Sukha Mahendra. Again, there comes a time in life, when you’re in a state of disbelief. It is the other extreme end of the spectrum. This surely cannot be real. I am draped in ecstasy. A sense of calm prevails over me. Every muscle in my body hurts, yet I feel more alive than I have been in ages. Please, could I just stay a bit longer, could we practice a bit more, could I simply absorb, imbibe, and soak in the experience.. With each passing day I get stronger, more flexible, more at ease. I want this to be infinite, boundless, eternal. And if this is a vision or a dream, I do not ever ever want it to end. Rated 5.0 Mahendra is an incredible teacher. I'm beginner, taking yoga class for the first time and had hesitation about myself as i feel very inflexible. But the way the class taught made easy to follow and remember all the postures. I felt confident and also motivated to practice. I feel really good, very calm and peaceful. I'm thankful to Mahendra for all the support and helping me to learn in the right way. I recommend his class to anyone who is interested to learn.

Rated 5.0 Mahendra is a gifted and caring teacher and a true role model! His training is impeccable. His communication skills are excellent. He is patient and sensitive in tailoring his training to the student's needs and abilities. My husband and I were somewhat apprehensive when we signed up for a two-day Bhuta Shuddhi and Surya Kriya training. Mahendra immediately put us at ease and created modifications to asanas that were difficult for our creaky 70-year-old bodies. Isha yoga was originally "prescribed" to us by our physician as treatment for stress, which was negatively affecting our health. For the past year, we have incorporated the Shambhavi Mahamudra and various Upa exercises into our daily routine. These practices have made a measurable difference in our lives! Our blood pressure is 10-20 points lower and our lipid panels have improved significantly. Most noticeable to us in our everyday lives… we feel a greater sense of calmness, ease and joy! Almost magically, the “sense of agitation” which used to be a too frequent companion has been replaced with a “new normal” – a sense of effortless well-being and optimism! We now look forward to adding our newly learned practices to make our senior years the best they can possibly be! Thank you Sadhguru and thank you Mahendra!
