Shukla Paksha Panchami during Sawan month is observed as Nag Panchami. Usually Nag Panchami day falls two days after Hariyali Teej. Namakaranam is a traditional naming ceremony of a new born child. It is conducted after performing the ‘Jatakarma’ samskara, either on the 12th /16th /20th/ 22nd day . The father holds the child on his lap and writes the name with his fingers wrapped by Dharba Gaddi (sacred grass) on the rice grains filled in a plate. Any gold item like a ring or a silver may be used to write the name. It is traditionally believed that Boy’s name should have letters in even numbers and Girl’s name should have odd numbered letters. The Sumangali Pooja is conducted to receive the blessings of ancestral ladies considered to be Sumangalis. Ladies who lived a prosperous life with their husbands and passed their life(whose husband is still living) are called Sumangalis. This pooja is known to enhance good fortune and ensure familial bliss.
Married women of a family do this pooja for a prosperous married life. Sumangali puja is also performed to manifest gratitude to the Sumangalis. This Sumangali puja is done to invoke the blessings of ancestral women of the family who have gone the earth plane. By performing this puja, it gratifies the unfulfilled longing of these women, and they, in turn, bless the family.

They refrain from visiting the family shrine and are prohibited from entering a temple or any other sacred place. This is because they are considered to be spiritually impure during this mourning period. After the shrahdhah ceremony, the family typically returns to work in anywhere from one to three weeks, depending on personal preferences.
The Varushabdigam ceremony is performed during the end of the first year after the death of a person. Immediately after death the kartha has to perform Oonam, sodha Kumbam & masikam for all 12 months which ends with the Varushabdigam ceremony denoting the end of the karma.
Seemantham, also known as Pumsavana Seemantham and 'Srimantha' in Karnataka is an important traditional ritual in the South Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, carried out during odd pregnancy months of 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th. The word "Seemantham" refers to parting the hair just above the eyebrow where the Goddess of Wealth, Sri Mahalakshmi, resides.
