Restore Simply
Restore Simply. This is a place you will find an abundance of all things Ayurveda, especially spices. Spices have played a central role in my culinary life for as long as I can remember. I have memories of being absolutely mesmorized by all the spices and herbs that my mother would so elaborately sprinkle into the large pots of fragrant food. Spices were always the stars of most dishes. I also witnessed some of these same spices and herbs being administered as medicine. My lifelong love affair with natural health care, and using food as medicine is the inspiration behind Restore Simply, as is creating a company that is focused on simplicity when it comes to integrating healthful choices into everyday life. Eating healthy and living well does not need to be complicated. Counting calories and measuring quantities is really not necessary. Historically, there was an inherent simplicity in the way people ate and exercised. I believe spices are absolutely essential to digesting and assimilating the food that we eat. Every culture has unique versions of spices to not only flavor, but to bring a therapeutic effect to the food too. In modern terminology, spices have powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-oxidant properties, but in Ayurvedic language spices are defined by their gunas or properties, and their vipaka or post-digestive effect. I am fascinated with Ayurveda, and it really is a great time to be a part of the health revolution today, which emphasizes whole clean foods, mindful practices, and yoga, the foundation upon which Ayurveda rests. Please check out the products page. Each spice blend is a tribute to the philosophies of Ayurveda. Doshic Teas and Seasonings that are locally created are simple to incorporate into every meal. On my blog, I share many Ayurvedic tips and tricks that, I promise, are always simple to include. Look out for delicious creations made with my blends on my recipes page.
