About Telugu Thota

Telugu Thota is a Telugu language and culture school in Orange County, California. We are dedicated to preserving Telugu culture well into the future! Telugu, like other South Asian languages is very strongly represented in the Southern California area, allowing the children of its native speakers to have a vast amount of exposure and also launching point to begin their verbal studies. In reality, for most of these students, Telugu is on the same platform as any other foreign language. It poses a great challenge for them to first understand, then speak, read and write this exotic language. It is one of the twenty two official languages of India and also, one of the four classical languages as of 2008. The other three include Sanskrit, Tamil and Kannada. Telugu is the most spoken Dravidian language, with approximately seventy four million native speakers. After Hindi and Bengali, Telugu is the third most widely spoken language in India. Nineteenth century Englishmen referred to this language as " the Italian of the East" because most of the words conclude with a vowel sound. For more details contact us.

Rated 5.0 My son Ishaan is Vidya garu's student. He absolutely loves her and is eager to go to class every Sunday! Vidya makes the classes a lot of fun and this encourages the children to bring out their best! It is amazing how he remembers to do his telugu homework! I wish she was his teacher at school! An amazing talent with an ever smiling expression on her face.

Rated 5.0 Vidya's passion for preserving Telugu language is not confined to classes in Irvine alone. During her summer holidays in India, she would make a number of trips to All India Radio station, Hyderabad, talking to stalwarts of Telugu language, getting a rare opportunity to look into the archives and bringing back to life some of the rarest of rare gems in the form of dance dramas depicted by her students! This goes far beyond the call of a Telugu teacher! The recognition she is getting is truly gratifying. Here is wishing that Vidya Tadanki's first leap of faith be transformed to huge leaps of success to Telugu Thota.
