Why the name, Sariwallis? Sariwallis, for us, augurs memories from years past when a lone Sariwalli (or Sariwallah) would bring exclusive saris to your doorstep, all tied up in muslin. Ma would patiently wait for the muslin to unwrap and promptly feign indifference at the Sari that she’d lost her heart to. The subtle pull and push, the not-so-subtle negotiation, the acting-oh-so-pricey, and the ultimate capitulation...all of this made its into the story that was the Sari and it would remain with Ma for as long as the Sari did! Sariwallis, therefore, stands for that elusive, exclusive, prized creature who brought your deepest desires, ahemm...THE SARI...to life! We hope to be that person, that friend, that confidante to you! Aparna is our resident marathoner. A perennial quest for anything new (or absurd, or both!), an innate love for earth-tones, a professorship in microbiology, and a general love of people and places characterizes this avid runner.And the gorgeous accessories that make the Sari stand out. Rated 5.0 The Sariswallis has a gorgeous selection of saris from all over India. I usually only go to Chennai when I'm homeward bound, and it's hard to find unique designs and high quality weaves from other states. The owners go straight to the weavers themselves to pick and choose the finest to bring to Seattle. Buying is a breeze, and delivery is super fast. Their jewelry collection is equally stunning and my go-to for gifts though I've parted with some pieces with a very heavy heart!
