The Yoga Studio
The Yoga Studio (TYS™) opened on Sept 28, 2010. TYS™ introduced Aerial Yoga to the Bay Area and was immediately featured on KTVU News, and later appeared on Andaaz TV, Get Real TV with Brian Stuckey, and Zenrez. One year after its grand opening, TYS™ introduced a new form of Aerial Yoga called TYS™ Aerial Yoga. With the success of the TYS™ Aerial Yoga program many have asked, “why not change the name to The Aerial Studio?” The answer is simple; the success behind our Aerial classes is our deep roots in Traditional Yoga. Pik Chu sees Aerial Yoga as Traditional Yoga using the aerial hammock as a versatile Yoga prop, so our Traditional Yoga classes are actually our secret sauce. TYS™ was built upon the goal of providing Yoga to practitioners who want to experience traditional Yoga rather than Yoga as exercise. The name of the studio reflects this simple concept. Our classes emphasize the TYS™ “3R” technique. A transformation cannot happen until we are willing to. All the teachers at TYS™ discourage competition while encouraging students to honor the body and allow Yoga to create long-lasting changes. The result is what owner, Pik Chu Wong, calls the “Transformation Through Practice”, in the mind, body and spirit. As a leader in the Aerial Yoga space, TYS™ also offers Teacher Training and Hammock Installation.
