The Victoria Hindu Temple was formally, ceremonially and traditionally established on 18 June 1995 at 1934 Cultra Avenue in Saanichton with remarkably well-attended Havan and Pooja performed under the priestly guidance of Pandit Acharya Shrinath Prasad Dwivedi of Vancouver. It is meant essentially for the religious, cultural and meditational aspects and activities of its umbrella organization, the Victoria Hindu Parishad. The very first priest-in-residence of the Victoria Hindu Temple was Pandit Parmod Kumar Gaur who came to the Temple directly from India in February 2001 and who (since his leaving the Temple in January 2010) is an established priest in the Greater Vancouver region. He came to the Victoria Hindu Temple directly from India.
