It is a wafer-like sweet created in Atreyapuram, a village and mandal in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. Initially Poothareku was mostly consumed by royal families and distributed to the people during festivals and any celebrations. Later the village started mass production and is now widely available. The village then became synonymous with the preparation and trading of this sweet. It is a labor-intensive job. With value additions, it becomes a delicacy which is sold at high prices in the cities Putharekulu is a delicate Authentic Sweet in South India, We get this product from Atreyapuram, which is famous for this Sweet. We got inspired by our father who is a Retired Manager from a reputed bank and started a Dry Fruits shop in India. We, Sisters now serving these Authentic Sweets from California and spreading all over USA, bringing this Authentic Sweet to your doorstep.
