Rated 1.0 First of all, let me say that I rarely give negative reviews to anyone. Akshay Grocery is an Indian grocery store close to us and I have tried to not only give them as much business as possible but also promoted them in the local community. Over years, I have tried to give this business the benefit of doubt hoping they will learn to improve the quality of products and also learn to serve customers with respect. I have finally given up. Price-wise they are higher than most local grocery stores. Quality is hit or miss. Invariably you will find the frozen items have clear signs of freeze and thaw. Once we had some insects in the wheat flour, that infested the whole pantry in the house. All that could be ignored, if the business owner has some sense of humility and can at least pretend to provide some sense of customer service. Any question about quality is rebuffed. Any complaint about an item is met resistance or, worse, scorn. The owner, Mr. G, has no EQ to run a business enterprise which makes the whole experience like hitting your head on a wall. After purchasing $500 worth of items, I went back to return a mold-infested $2-3 product few days later. I was treated with the least accommodation and maximum red tape. Shop at your own risk. Even if the owner can fix all the issues, he will not be able to fix who he is as a person. I am done for good.
